Replaced one of the anti-sway bars on the 3 point for the third time in 4 years. Anyone know of something better than the telescoping and pin type?

Replaced blades on brush hog and greased everything. Hooked up to tractor and spent a couple relaxing hours mowing down wild raspberries and thickets. Tractor handles the Brush Bull 600 with ease.

Just got done mowing 5 acres with my 2538, and an 84" finish mower. About 2 acres in, I decided to replace the OEM blades with new ones I bought a few weeks ago. Man...what a difference! Much quieter, cuts better, and the OEM blades were beat to ****. Didn't realize how bad they were until I took them off and laid them on the floor. They were bent, split and I probably should have replaced them 2 months ago.

But anyway, got about 3 hours of butt time in. My home made canopy is worth its weight in gold too. It was about 90* here today. Canopy provided some nice shade.

Will try to do the other 5 acres tomorrow or Monday depending on the rain.

Hey Duffer, how about some pics of your canopy? I have the 2638 and it looks to be a hot summer

Me too! I pulled a stump about the size of my pickup. Used the ancient Woods backhoe to dig about 4' around the stump, and eventually got it loose. It was too heavy for either the hoe or the FEL to lift out, and pulling it out w/chains didn't work since it was so deep (maybe 5' deep). So, I used the FEL to dig a path to the bottom of the crater I made, and once there, used chains to pull it out.

I thought for sure that, given all the dirt still on the stump, I would come up short when refilling the crater, but surprisingly it came out very smooth. I now have a car-sized stump loaded with dirt, in my yard. I'm considering pushing it over the 200' cliff edge on my property, but seeing it laying in my yard feels like a badge of honor.

I don't think I'm the only one that would like to see a pic of that "behemoth of a stump"!!

:) We are dry up heah in Northern Lower Michigan.... Burn ban... still waiting for our Spring rains.... Great stump digging weather, though. Dirt just fall off the roots. [ Ma Nature is a fickle bee itch :) ]

I'm surprised, since we've had tons of rain over the past couple weeks, to the point where we have puddles in areas I haven't seen puddles in at least 5 years. Apparently the weather systems are going just south of you. I know Kalamazoo area has been deluged with rain. I'm not complaining though -- I'd rather have too much rain than not enough, at least in the spring. A dry summer just means less washing of the cars, toy hauler, boats, toys and tractors!

Ok, since you asked :) I just asked my 5yo boy (he's 37" tall) to stand next to it and wave at the security camera. Mind you, it's upright now (I just moved it yesterday to get my chains out from under it) - and it was a wider than tall due to all the dirt. A good amount has washed off due to the rains. I was going to toss it over the cliff, but someone here said it may look pretty neat once the dirt is all gone. So, nothing to lose leaving it as yard art for now.

For reference, this is the cliff I'm talking about...

Used tractor to wrestle a 20' long 30" ID double-walled plastic culvert up onto my porch to create a slide for my kids. I cannot imagine doing this without heavy equipment. The pipe weighs almost 400 lbs and the porch is 12' off the ground.

End result is SO worth it...

Closest hardware store is 2 hours (RT) away, so a ratchet strap is the temporary red-neck fix until I can get the proper fasteners to attach the chute to the pipe end.

Brush hogged about 4 acres. And put tractor away with exactly 49.9 hours on it! I’ll do the 50 hour service next weekend.
