Tool Box Install:

Harbor Freight 21" Tool Box, 3/8" stainless hardware, strut and strut nuts. It's long enough for the longest metric wrenches needed on the tractor.

It's plenty sturdy but I'll probably add a sole plate the same footprint as the toolbox to minimize any racking when the box is full. But it's good as it is right now. And it's a perfect match for the Branson red.

Nice job, Bob! Inspirational!

Thanks very much.

I'm happy with how it turned out. I've got two pretty long lengths of 3/8" chain and two large combo wrench sets in there as well as some other stuff. It all fits well and the box isn't flexing at all.

To my "slow moving vehicle" triangle I attached some rare earth disc magnets and stow it behind the seat. If I take the tractor on the streets I just slap the triangle on the ROPS and that triangle ain't going nowhere. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

I also moved the small work light over a few inches to make room for the toolbox.

The past week I've modified a hydraulic cylinder to use as top-link. I've welded the ball ends but on the rod side, I've threaded the inside of the rod for a 22 mm x 1.5 mm thread on the lathe and machined and threaded a 70 mm long shaft for the ball end side. This allows for a couple more inches of travel if needed.

I've managed to get the same closed/open dimensions of the original top link.

Thanks Bob!

I still need to put it to use and see how it performs. I suspect it will have a slight creep since it's a well used cylinder and it also has a slightly bent rod. If this becomes a problem with regular use, I will make a new rod and repack the cylinder. It should make good as new.

One thing I've noticed on my Branson, is with my mower and tiller, I always need to open the top link almost to the max length. Since I built the hydraulic top link according to the dimensions of the original one, I might have no room to tilt (ie: box blade) back. Which can be solved with a longer rod. No big deal.

Not today but I have put two LED lights on the roll bar. Adds alot to be able see better at night and not worry about seeing hidden objects.

I really like the idea of the 55 gallon barrel ballast. Plan to make one this weekend. Should make moving bales with the loader less stressful.

Post some pics of the LED,S. Doing the toolbox from harbor freight soon. I need to fab or buy some pallet forks. Tommers sand and gravel have a bunch of old forklifts. The manager says nick will sell just the forks/rack. I,d like to have some that fit my 4720H quick attach loader arms AND fit the 3 point both. I see a Mahindra [Boulder equipment] quick attach forks for the mahindras. Are all the quick attach buckets universal? As in mounting system? Does anyone make forks in a double mount system?
