Orebonder, if you have detent on one of your remotes, and you are certain the backhoe valve is a open center valve, you can use that remote. Bob's set up is using the power beyond from his tractor and therefore does not require a valve. However, it would require a hose looped between the two connections on the tractor if he takes the backhoe off.

To use the remote with detent, you will need to know the flow direction of your remote in relation to the lever position. The port that flows out of the tractor would go to the power in port of the backhoe valve. The tank port from the backhoe valve would go to the remaining port for the spool you are using on the tractor.

I am hesitant in suggesting this because if it is a closed center system on the backhoe, which I doubt, and you hook it up to your remotes, you can damage your hydraulic system on the tractor as flow would stop. If you move the remote valve in the wrong direction, you could damage the backhoe valve. You need to understand exactly what is needed to safely use remotes for this purpose.

If you can live with the PTO pump, that would be simplest.

Hope this helps!

I am pretty sure today is the first time in my life I ran a tractor fuel tank dry. I thought for a second, what the heck happen to this engine! Then, before I tried to restart, I looked at the gauge and saw the problem. Thankfully, it was no issue getting it back up and running again!

I have ran out of fuel several times. I don't know how the 4815C is compared to the 4720C. Mine is supposed to have a 9+ gallon fuel tank (considerably smaller capacity than the non-cab version) However I live on a hilly area. If the hill leans to the left side, it runs out of fuel quite easily. I have ran out of fuel on a rather severe left leaning hill and filled to overflow using only 5 gallons. If it leans to the right I can use my full fuel capacity. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to always make the hills lean to the right.:confused3: Matters are made worse by the fact my fuel gauge is considerably less than marginally accurate. Now I just make sure I don't go over 5 or so hrs of use without filling it. Fortunately running out of fuel is not a big deal other than walking back to the shop to get a fuel can. On my old Ferguson, it is a major PITA to get it primed and running again.

Well all of you are staying busy, I haven't even cranked my Branson up in a couple of weeks.
Too muddy to do much without tearing stuff up and making huge ruts,
using bigger tractors on the farm to move the feed wagons around in the feed lots.

Thanks for the info!
Maybe it would be best to stay with my PTO pump. I think I will be adding "quick disconnects" to the pump and Backhoe....reason being, is that trying to hang the PTO pump with the Backhoe on is a real PAIN.

You can probably buy the tractor side kit from a dealer. It's easy to install. It replaces part of the line that feeds the 3pt (or the valve body on top if you have the factory remote valves) with a short loop of hose that has a quick connect in it. You keep those connected for non BH use and deatch them and attach them to the BH when mounting it.

I think the kit is different if you have remotes or not.

My tank is 7 gallons. It is mounted center above 3pt hitch. The strange thing is the fuel light that is described in the owners manual never came on. Not that the light would have made a difference. I can't even blame running out from being on a slope. Really, I just did not realize how long I had been working. Definitely will be fueling more frequently now!

Pretty sure it was just a sign that you were working too much. You're just getting too comfortable on your fancy cab.

Putting the back blade back on. Apparently we’re supposed to get hit with 5”-7” of snow late Friday, early Saturday!!! (sigh)

Started my 3725 this morning for the first time in, I think a month. Started right up, no issues. Took the bucket off the FEL and put the Artillian pallet forks on. Man I love SSQA. Mud season is winding down and winter is pretty much gone, so it was time to take the pallet of sandbags out of the bed of my truck for the season. Really liking my Artillian forks and frame. It's also nice to be able to see what I'm doing through the framework, instead of the back end of the bucket blocking my view when I used the clamp on forks. Had no issues at all lifting and carrying the 1200 lb pallet.

I'll probably swap the bucket back on tomorrow, supposed to be warm. Still waiting for the driveway to dry out and harden up all the way, then I have a mess to regrade and straighten out. Going to need a few more weeks of warmth and sunlight hitting the ground before I can straighten that mess out.

I took the Edge Tamers off the bucket this morning too. With winter season over, I won't be needing those again until late fall.

It's raining here the last few days but I used the forks and a sling to bring the finish mower into the shop for some overdue TLC... sharpened, lubed, etc. Also moved wood chips from the chip pile to the laydown area to manage the mud.
