Got the use the tractor last Friday to till some land we own about an hour north from my home.
The ground hasn't been worked on for 30+ years. I just have been mowing the brush and last year I ran the spading machine on it to try to loosen up all that compacted clay. Now it was time to run the tiller on it.
I'm a bit late on doing this task but just had a lot of rain this year and everything was still way too wet to get in. This means that the pasture got a bit too high for my liking. Some of the highest spots were up to 2 feet high. I was going to run a third one to make it look nicer, but was running out of time for that day.
Anyway, the Branson took it like a boss, eating rocks and stumps from the canes. I ran the first pass in 540, then the second pass was on 540E. It was actually the first time I've seen it smoking a little bit under load where the grass was higher.
I won't grow anything here and this is done mostly to keep the land cleared and delay the brush as much as possible. It's also close to some houses and we can get fined if we don't clear it and it grows too much. It has to do to fire protection zones.
I do plan to get a shipping container on this propriety so I can store my tractor there whenever I'm working there, so I don't have to constantly tow the tractor back and forth. I simply can't trust myself on leaving the tractor there knowing what some people are capable of.
