Yes, out here in Montana I can dig a hole with the backhoe to plant a tree, and end up with a pile of small/large rocks, and just a cup of dirt.

It is the Rocky Mountains for a reason.

And our frost freeze goes 4' to 6' below ground level in the winter.

funny you think that dirt is red look at this dirt last year when I installed my Geothermal HVAC.
I am outside Greenville SC so the ground really never freezes

Kinda strange nobody's built a backhoe grapple, at least I haven't seen anything like that. I got a thumb on my hoe, I pick up stuff with it, but sometimes I'm wanting for a grapply-looking attachment there instead of the bucket. Like have Gofast's quick-change bracket mounted, take off bucket and put on mini-grapple rake. Could use the thumb as is, or even better mount something on the thumb jaws that widens the surface area. And why not?

I would think you would need at least 5 people to want to buy it to make it worth making. I think I would be fun to use.

I put a couple buckets in my FEL drop them off where I a digging and just switch to the one I need as I move through the job.
When you can switch between attachments in under 2 min you switch more often. I don't even keep any attached to my FEL.
I just grab the bucket or forks depending what I am doing.

You think?!! Well, I can't speak for the other 4 dudes, but I tell you what you build something like that which works good with the thumb, you'll have me on the hook for it and your quick attach thingie, yup!
