Well, I was out leveling off the gravel road with my rear blade and I see my 2360 blower hanging off. I guess the bouncing of the rough snow and road finally got to these tabs. I'll try to find someone to weld but any other ideas?

Luckily I had some tow chains on me to hold up to prevent further damage. I ran the blower and now I hear a clanging. Ugh, the shaft in the QC likely bent.

Today, I jiggled the snowblower front to back while watching this attachment and noticed I could move the MF red flange about a 1/4".

Today was the first time, I think that I have tightened these bolts, and when it warms up a little, I am going to add another bolt in between these 2 bolts to lock up this small adjustment of pitch.

Don't know how long they have been just loose enough to move, but the last few years I've noticed a slight more vibration while using the snowblower.

If my screwup has prevented others for having this issue then I've done my job. ;)

Stopped in the dealer today to pick up the part to solve the always full fuel gauge.

One of the mechanics comes running out and wants to know what was wrong with my 1710 when I sold it and how many hours on it? I told him nothing and 595. He takes me outback and there it sits, guy I sold it to traded it in a 1723, at 660 hours. Nothing wrong with it, he just wanted the upgrades too...lol

Well, a day or two ago, when we has some wet snow after several days of quite warm temperatures... well... I did some landscaping.... with my snow blower....!!:mur:

I solved that problem by attaching this full width ski on my front mount blower. It is a piece of flat stock, 6 inches by 86 inches, with the front 1 1/2 inches bent up at 30 degrees. Total cost is less than $50.
I thought I would need to remove it after I built up a layer of frozen snow, but it turns out that the blower is heavy enough to sink thru. Its on its third year, never removed it. It wont cut thru a pile of wet snow after it slides off my metal roof, tho. Had to remove the blower and use the FEL for that job.
I don’t know why my pics display sideways. They used to display correctly at one time.

I could do something like that... but I paved my driveway a few years back (LOVE that, BTW), so I have those dumb shoes on the bottom fully retracted and scrape right down to the pavement. I just wasn't quite quick enough on the lifting as I went off the pavement and into a gravel/dirt area.... and everything was thawed out as a result of the recent warm weather.

That blower can really shoot the dirt & gravel!

Hi Irvingj, you're likely aware of this already but the cutting edge wears down quickly when in contact with concrete, payment, or gravel for the matter. Keep an eye on the underside of the blower behind the cutting edge as it doesn't take much wear before you'll start wearing down structural areas of the blower.

I think there's a thread where someone fitted the guide shoes with 1/2" or 3/4" UHMW with recessed bolts.

Our MF guide shoes should be able to rotate 180 degrees, add the UHMW to the bottom, and adjust the bottom of the snowblower as needed (may require some modification to the slotted holes).

This may be a project for those that have pavement?

Those oem shoes are the worst. They wear out quickly and bend easily. If the backing of blower gets bowed out even a little (which it will) then the shoes are impossible to keep in place ie: they will slide down regardless of how tightly torqued. I started using 4" anti skid skateboard type grip tape on both the the backside of shoes and blower and over time that even proved ineffective. After years of jigging around with fixes and now on my second blower I've found the following fix: My second 2360 blower had holes drilled on the outside wing spanned for shoes that matched the reversible shoes used for the 63” Massey1410 which is the same as b2782b I purchased a set of these shoes then set the inside oem shyte shoes to a minimum setting of about 1/4". I can now quickly adjust the outside shoes between gravel and pavement levels quickly as well. Since using this setup I've gone through zero fan or auger shear bolts.

The original oem shoes mechanical integrity was compromised a little to meet a residential design goal. The marks left by the inward type shoes are are covered up with the tire tracks and the side edges of the blower leave a pristine edge. This leaves a clean and precise looking finish which is valued on a small scale residential level. Shoes attached to the outside wings of the blower catch snow and builds up some therefore the outside profile in a little messier and the rear tires do not clean this up.

Reversing the oem shoes works well on concrete or pavement but then the front edge digs into gravel rather than, relatively, floating over it and those constant extra forces bow out the back sheet metal of the blower even more and further promotes the bowing issue stated above.

This has nothing to do with my response to Irvingj however lol. I believe he raised his shoes so that they no longer ride on the ground and the weight of the blower is now riding on the cutting edge. Like Irvingj I've done my fair amount of landscaping with both setups.
