Meh, I usually take the snow off the cars around the third week in Feb. the tractor follows soon after.

Well, I was out leveling off the gravel road with my rear blade and I see my 2360 blower hanging off. I guess the bouncing of the rough snow and road finally got to these tabs. I'll try to find someone to weld but any other ideas?

Luckily I had some tow chains on me to hold up to prevent further damage. I ran the blower and now I hear a clanging. Ugh, the shaft in the QC likely bent.

Your short shaft is pretty heavy duty and the clanging you are hearing could be from the movement that the chains are allowing.

Looks like your chains are pretty much a permanent fix, ouch, just kidding.

If you can pull the broken piece back to where it broke off, then you could drill a hole or two and add bolts between the existing two bolts.

This may be enough for fix for a while ?

Looks like welding a piece of flat bar on the outside portion of the snowblower a long with welding the torn piece will do the fix, a long with a good inspection of the other side.

You may also consider the similar repair to the opposite side as preventive maintenance.

Good luck with your repair, KC

Wow! I've had those bolts loosen up (and fall off) a few times, but the mounting tabs seem to be holding up OK on my 2360.... Something I'll keep an eye on!

Down here in south Texas is not very much if any snow so I use my GC2399 for hauling wood

So I took KC's good advice and just added a bolt that would get me through til spring.

The rust on one side and half on the other tells me that it's been a problem in the making for awhile. I did have a habit of using my hydraulics to "bump" the blower free of loose snow. I will not continue that bad habit as that couldn't have helped that tab.

Yup-made in Canada LOL....

JK

I would reinforce that plate with another 3/8 plate after you re-weld it. Easy to do, needs to be cleaned from paint and joints need to be ground for best weld penetration.

I would just take it as a challenge and use the opportunity to make it better than it was.

That's the plan.

Glad you could fix it for the rest of the winter.

Looking at your top hole in the black bracket, it appears that the oval hole may be for a small amount of vertical pitch adjustment for the snowblower, or else the bolt had been slightly loose for awhile and caused a round hole to become oval.

When I remove my snowblower this spring, I'll check the top hole and the tightness of these bolts.

If it were me I would just make 2 pieces of 3/16" x 1.5" x 7" long flat bar and drill the matching holes to bolt up, and slap it on the outside (a long with the loose piece that broke off as the needed spacer).

I would use all new (6 required) grade 5 bolts with flat washers (flat washers should give more holding surface area) inside and outside and nylock nuts.

This looks like one of those visual items that appears to be correct when the bolt/s might be slightly loose, and affecting the metal connection holes by the snowblowers vibrations.

Also if I was to weld on a piece, I would use 1/8" material and no heavier than 3/16" material, just me...

Good luck, KC
