What is the best way to install a grab link onto a chain?

Just purchased a grab link and want to mount it to the end of a 5/16" chain.

Obviously the grab link is made for a 3/8" chain, but from what I am told it will work with 5/16" chain as well.

Would like to be able to remove it easily to be able to install it onto other 5/16" chains, of various lengths.

Also has to be able to move/rotate easily within the new fastener that will be mounted to
the end of the chain.

2x Hammerlok / Coupling links

A CM Hammerlok Coupling Link (9/32") or a Gunnebo Industries Coupling Link G GrabiQ (7 or 8 mm) can be assembled through 5/16" chain (0.44" chain inside width, see A and F dimensions of coupler below), while still handle the 3/8" Grablink (see B dimension of coupler below).

See Youtube video for how these Coupling links attach / detach.

if you just want to put it on the end of a chain you should have got the clevis choke ring, or a slip hook. otherwise use an appropriately sized clevis to attach it
