Any of you tried using one of these?

ScoopDogg Snow Pushers - Compacts

Curious how well they work?

ive seen snow pushers working the parking lots in town. There larger than that pictured above, and on large front end loaders, but they do a great job.

I have 2 gates on my plow that i can swing in to make a pusher if i want to, but i always push the snow off to the side so dont use both at one time. I close one on the high side to keep snow from drifting over .

Basically all I use. I have a 8' one and would not want any bigger. If we would only get 10" or so at a time the 10' one would be fine but 24" is fairly common to wake up to, usually 1-2 times a year. You will want to chain up all 4 tires so you can steer or get used to unlocking your brakes and using them to steer the tractor. I quit using the chains on the front because of the vibration going down the road, I do miss them but not enough to put up with the vibs. CJ

I think grsthegreat's setup with the hydraulic powered blower on the FEL makes the most sense for people who have massive snowfalls. When you have 100+ inches of snow, a blower is the only viable option.

we had an additional 8-10 inches of snow today on top of yesterdays 5-6".

After i got home from 8 hours of mind numbing electrical install job, i had the pleasure of sitting in the heated, dry cab blowing the snow away. I dont care what i paid for this tractor and blower. The fact that i can now accomplish what for 14 years has taken me 5-6 hours to complete in 2.5 hours............ thats priceless. Also i stay dry and no more neck issues.

All is well

My 51 inch rear mount blower on my abode of BX 25 works very well for me, and I do not stay on it long enough to get a severe cricket my neck. It is so convenient to simply turn around and use the bucket for any big piles that are in the way. However, I would really enjoy having a quick attach with a front plow blade. A hydraulic angler would of course be expensive, so I would have no problem angling the blade manually. I do it on my ATV all the time.

Chains are another matter. I originally bought ladder chains, but the crossmember simply fell in between the lugs of the tractor and made them useless. So, I returned them and bought v bar chains for quite a bit more money. Man, what a difference! The only problem now is they make for a very rough ride when I have to drive on pavement.

Also, one of these days I'm going to get either some sort of rearview mirror or a rearview camera. Have been looking at the various discussions about this, and there's some good information there.

Ouch. Sticker shock. Of course I'm an old fashioned Yankee cheapskate. $10K for that amount of equipment in retrospect doesn't seem that bad.

well a GOOD, well build rear pto driven blower was being quoted around $6-7,000. this wasnt too much more. And my neck was worth it. I was having severe neck pains every winter. none anymore.
