Attachments are FEL and BH. All others are implements.

So anything that attaches to the FEL is also an attachment, or are you saying that there are only 2 attachments (FEL & BH) and everything else is an implement?

That is the way Kioti defines them. I guess they consider the standard bucket to be part of the FEL attachment but yes, everything else is an implement.

Makes sense. At least it does to me.

I think of the TLB concept and see the logic in considering the loader and BH as distinct from other more specific tools. I'd certainly agree that there might not be anything particularly unique about the FEL and BH other than the fact that most are attached by subframes or loader posts and those elements are not designed to be changed out for a new implement each time a task demands it. Everything else attaches temporarily to either the FEL QA or the 3PT so those tools (implements)are distinguished from the FEL and BH (attachments). YMMV:D

I would say that your explanation makes the most sense. But then why does Kioti call some implements for the UTVs that are listed under implements, attachments? Do these attachments change to implements when being used by a tractor? :confused2:  I just looked at Mahindra's website and they are calling anything that attaches to the tractor FEL, all buckets, spears, loader forks etc. an attachment along with a back hoe & MMM. So that would lead me to believe that anything that connects to the 3pt hitch or is pulled by the tractor is considered an implement.

And here lies the problem, I believe that there is no industry standard for what classifies an implement to be an implement and an attachment to be an attachment. They are what people call them, and that apparently can be two different things for the same exact item. :confused2:

Mahindra's definition is closer to what I use to think things were, but to me it seems like there is no set industry standard. :(

Enough of this malarkey, if Jake is asking what gets used the most hours, then for me it would be my disks,( about 100 hours) other wise most often would be the FEL. ;)

Bush hog, when I'm not on strike due to the heat ("****, no, we won't mow!"). After that, FEL, followed by middlebuster and tiller together.

I don't think I've ever hitched up my box blade, though I used the FEL to move it once.

Here is another fly in the ointment. This forum is for "Attachments" - where is the "Implement" forum.

unless you have a ford 711 or 722 loader.. they come off and on in 10-15 minutes MAX.. less if you are fast and prepaired.. like have a chain hanging from a tree limb.. then it's just a drive up, hitch, and pull 2 pins and cut the wheels hard and back out..

that's FRAME and all.. :)
