What size hiller disks to buy?

Now I'm looking at adding a second toolbar to it so I can mount 2 rows of cultivator shanks to it. The extra square tube will add to the weight also so the hiller should work better.

When you do, please post pictures so I can copy.....err....uh......l mean evaluate the effectiveness of reengineering my design.

I've looked at several implements that use discs for moving dirt, hillers, bedders, listers, and even plastic mulch layers. They all require tillage prior to using. That's why I cultivate before I use mine. I like the idea of adding shanks to it. Mark

Will do. I pretty much copied your design, so I figure if I do the cultivator, turnabout is what they call fair play. I promise not to make my first million off your design if you promise not to sell mine to Kubota. :laughing:

I ordered 4 of these tonight in a 9" width. A friend at work said that I might be smart to start with just one row of sweeps to see how the little 2660 pulls them before going to the expense of adding to the framework to put 2 gangs in. Might find that one row does what I want them to anyway.

Got the sweeps in Monday, brought the rest of the metal home tonight, but am lengthening the cables on my welder and my buddy forgot to bring his splice crimpers in for me to use today. When I get that done, I'll weld it up and maybe post a video. Problem is it's STILL raining and the ground is STILL soaked. Not the best time to play in the dirt as I found out with the hiller. I think I'll start a new thread instead of digging this one up again.
