What size trailer

Don't forget that when you measure the length of your tractor plus attactments you need to add a few feet to the length of the trailer. This gives you room to position the tractor so you get the proper tongue weight on the hitch.
So if the length of your tractor with loader and bush hog is 18' you would want at least a 20' bed on your trailer.

( In fact every forum has a "search" function, which is a great place to start. It helps keeping down tons of new postings on subjects that have been discussed in depth previously. )

I don't agree with your statement to "Keep down postings". How many new people have come to this site that might have insight since the topic was last discussed? How many people have purchased trailers since then? How many have changed their minds since their last post? That is why we are on this site. I always think people should search first, then post if they still have any questions or want more input.
If the title is an old one, I would suggest not reading it if you don't want to, not tell them not to ask.
Just my thoughts /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Thanks for your suggestion, however it goes unnoted...
I didn't see any "new" question asked...Did you read the O/P???
If there is some "new " question I could see that, but for everyone to start a new thread about previously discussed subjects with vague question only clutters a board and elicits repetition.
I belong to several forums and I think most people agree.
If someone has insight on a discussed thread they could add it there.
Ya'all can do whatever you wish I guess---but this idea wasn't invented by me.

Not to start anything, but I added much more than just "new question" to my reply. I also added about people changing their mind on matters. (I have actually changed my stand on trailers in the last week due to a new issue that has come up. My reply would change, but nobody would know if they only read my last post)
I also go back to what about new users to the site that were not part of the discussion? Many of them have a wealth of knowledge to add.
As far as new questions, I would guess that 75% of our questions are not new if we searched long enough.
To everyone with a question, I suggest searching for the answer, and posting again if you wish. You can also see by many searches that from post to post you can get different and valuable info.
It's just my opinion. I'm not trying to get anyone angry. There is so much info on this site that I believe it would turn into just that, a search engine with a chat room.
We should also remember new technology or additions to the market since last posting. If you asked about an oil change last year, maybe something came out in the last few months that would be helpful. Search wouldn't help you there if nobody went back and added it to a year old post.

I second gravel13's comments. Make sure the trailer measurement is for the BED and not the overall length. I'd recommend a bed length of 20' minimum with an overall length of 22 - 23'. If you buy one too short, you'll be sorry. No offense to the other guys, but your machine is a CK30, not a CK20. You'll need a bigger trailer, especially if you have an FEL and something on the back. I have an LK3054 with FEL and backblade in the attached picture. It is on a 20' trailer with an 18' bed and it's a super tight fit. I wish I had more room - don't make a mistake you'll regret /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

Just returned from a couple of weeks setting up the foundation for my 40x50 storage shed. A couple of red hot days produced enough break time to finally get out the measuring tape. Highbeam/Joe here is the promised follow up. Although my overall trailer length is 19' 2" the deck only measures 16' 0" so the mystery is solved. Now onto some useful (maybe) measurements:
13' 0" = Kioti 3054 with KL122 loader attached
2" 3" = Box Blade (60" width)
6' 10" = Rotary Mower (60" width)
3' 5" = Back Blade (60" width)
5' 7" = Chipper with hopper/chute attached
5' 5" = Post Hole Digger
3' 3" = Rear forks

All the above are 3PH attached and were measured from the center of the 3 point pin to the back of the attachment. So my machine with a rotary cutter attached would require a 20 foot trailer deck with no wiggle room to balance the load. Looks like it might be time for me to search for another trailer soon but there's too much other work to be done. I'll soon be erecting my storage shed and hope to post some pictures in the Projects forum as it goes up. Wish me luck :D.
