Last year I started this thread with the guess that the Patriots and the Saints would play in the Superbowl and I would have been right if it had not been for the infamous missed call by the referees. This year I am making the same prediction again. I know it is very unusual for 2 teams to have great years back to back and the odds are against me but I want to see Brees and Brady battle it out so bad so that I am hoping for the best.
The Saints didn't look very good in the beginning of the Monday night game tonight and they do always start out slow as they have lost the first game of the season for quite a few years now. They usually get better as time goes on as they did tonight. My heart is still pounding after the end of this game against the Texans where the Saints were leading with about 30 seconds left when the Texans scored and got ahead and then the Saints came back to win with a record setting field goal as time ran out in one of the most exciting games I have seen in years.
What teams do you predict will play in the next Superbowl? I'm not asking what your favorite teams are just who you really think will be in it. Hopefully, the emphasis will be on winning this year and not on who can protest what.

:thumbdown: :thumbdown: I watched in horror when the Hawks handed one to the Pats at the goal line. Brady didn't earn that one but won it.

Of course the Saints don't have much chance if they keep using the same referees. They were cheated again in the Monday night game by the same referee that cheated them in the famous no call championship game. They were working downfield right before halftime with 41 seconds to go when the referee made an error and took 15 seconds off the clock and set it at 26 seconds. This only gave the Saints time to get close enough for a try at a 56 yard field goal that was missed. If they had those 15 extra seconds they could have easily made 10 more yards and got a 46 yard field goal or possibly even a touchdown as Brees was doing the 2 minute drill to perfection. The NFL apologized for the mistake again but again there was nothing to do about it.
Luckily in the final 30 seconds of the game, Brees was able to work downfield enough for them to make a 58 yard field goal to win so not much will be said about this latest referee mistake.
