One day I will have to buy me some new truck tires I will buy an American made tire. Tire plants here in the states are not doing to well with all the import tires coming over. I will spend a few extra bucks to support an American job. My 2 cents

Sure, you do that.

Lets see; Cooper, Firestone or Goodyear ?

You may want to take Goodyear out of that list.

Michelin announced investments in North America totaling $346 million in 2005. These investments were made across product lines and in both the U.S. and Canada. Michelin capped 2006 with an announcement to build a new tread processing plant in Queretaro, Mexico, adjacent to Michelin Mexico headquarters and its passenger tire plant.

Investment Location Product line

$80 million Starr, S.C. Semifinished products

I have Kelly Safaris on my old 2WD F350, and these have held up well to wear and loads

I got my Ram used - came with Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials. They were noisy and seemed to wear fast on the street - but they handled loads fine.

I had to replace them because bad ball joints caused uneven wear in the fronts. At first I was just going to fall back to "normal" truck" tires, but I had come to like these so I figured I would see how a new set handled with proper maintenance. Then the Tire Shop ordered the wrong tires, got Baja MTX instead - so figured I'd try them. Much quieter, good traction on and off road - but still seem to wear fast. I will be in the market again soon for new ones and this thread is now my buying guide.....

Since my experience is severely limited, I can't say I recommend either make - but curious to hear thoughts, if any, on the Mickey Thompsons. I am assuming I will hear "good mud tire only" or "just a trendy tire for wannabe off-roaders".......:D

The company where I worked for over 30 years sold raw materials to the tire industry. They did (and continue to do) a lot of research comparing how different brands of tires were made and on how they preformed in wear tests and road tests. Michelin always was the best and I mean always. I only buy Michelin for the wife's car although like some other folks here I go by price for my truck. I had Hancook OEM tires on my F150 they lasted about 30K and were hard to keep balanced. I then bought Goodyears they are poor in mud and with 35K on them going fast. I bought the Goodyears because they were cheaper and had a 70K mile warrenty, I am wishing I had gone with the Michelin. This isn't exactly to the point of F350 tires, but maybe a little helpful.

I have never had any luck with Michelins. My Volvo came with them years ago and would not last 10K before a blow out. After 6 tires I bought the cheapest off brand tire and they would last until bald. I will say the Michelins gave the quietest ride and a very soft ride but maybe this contributed to the blow outs.

I had really good wear and winter traction with Good Year Wranglers. Loved those tires. But when it finally came time to replace I switched to Bridgestone as that was my preferred dealer for my dump truck tires. They talked me into the Dueler Revo's as they were the best rated tire on the internet. Well I was really disappointed with them. They run quiet, wore ok, but winter traction was scary. Especially in wet slush. They would hydroplain all over and were very unpredictable.
I'm now running Dunlop Mud Rovers (because I got them free through a deal).
I do all long distance highway driving and after a year they show no tread wear, traction is unreal (although side grip in winter not as good as Wranglers......easy to get the back end to slide around in corners) only drawback is they are extremely noisy.

Medicshawn, I just ordered a set of Terra Grapplers in that size for my F-350 I think the tread pattern is a little more of a off road type than the Dura Grapplers. I have heard good things about this tire. My second choice was the Bridgestone Revo. I hope these are as good as most say.
