I thought I would wrap this project up. I finished last weekend right before it snowed. I even planted the bulbs and various succulents my wife had dug up. It was a job she wanted to do but blew her knee out (replacement surgery scheduled for Feb 2019), so she sat on the deck with a glass of wine and told me to plant what and where. It shouldn't have taken me so long to finish this project but we took 3 separate vacations this summer.
I overlapped the EPDM below the wood structure by about a foot
Building out the roof structure.
I wrapped the inside of the roof structure with leftover EPDM, the front was wrapped in tar paper. The top is a hunk of redwood I recycled when I repaired my deck a few years ago.
Almost done putting the dirt back on, my back is sore. I originally wanted cedar shingles but they were a stupid price so I just went with metal.
The flamingos are back where they belong, all is right with the world.

Very nice job. I sure couldn't have even done the dirt removal by hand. You are very lucky to have a good back for those type of projects. Your great grandchildren should be able to use that wine cellar.
