James,
Know thats just plain sweet looking JD.
When I had mine for couple of years it was a 1950 and not as good as shape as your,but it never let me down.
Good thing about those old girlsjust about anybody could work on them,if the dealer didn't have the part there was a good chance an old auto store would..and room for the hands to work.
The real only problem I had was going thru light mud,for there wasn't much weight up front,and when turning it kinda skim along.
Starting her had that cool sound..like it wasn't going to start than kachug it came to life./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

John Deere M, 2 Allis Chalmers B's, Massey Harris 81RC, John Deere H, Case SC, Ferguson TO-30, Ford 4500 TLB, and MF 135. The JD H and MH 81RC need work to be able to run but the rest run with no problems as we use the 4500 on a regular basis. Use to have a Case VA and Allis Chalmers WD 45, didn't mind selling the VA but miss the WD 45.

I also grew up around the old Farmalls. My father had an old tricycle front IH. I think it was a C but not sure. He had a old fleal mower on it, and did a good job keeping the woods cut back. First tractor I ever drove, and almost killed myself on it./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I think I will stick with a wide front end when I get one./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Forgot to add. We had this tractor till about 3 years ago. My father sold it right before he died. I got my land the next year. He used to love putting around on the tractor.Would have been nice to have them boulth around now, I sure could keep them busy.
