Re: What\'s ailing my bota 4610\"

Don.....man, my heart goes out for you!!!! How long has this been going on????? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Too loooong!!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I've been trying to read this thread and keep up with the situation and the many suggestions. All I can say is, I'm convinced that it is a lack of hydraulic fluid.

Earlier, a gentlemen who had an extensive background in hydraulic pumps replied and his comments seemed to be dead nuts on.

To make a long story (reply) short, I'd take a 5 gallon jug of hydraulic fluid, a six pack of (soft drink, of course and maybe a sack lunch /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) and the necessary accessories/tools/pumps/funnels/pvc pipe/plastic or rubber hose, etc and force that tractor to drink all the fluid it could.....until it begins to run out the filler cap.

Then I'd hop up on er', fire er' up and see if I had any go power. Hopefully, it'll want to go...and I'd drive that baby outta' there. Once on top or back at the house, let it sit for a while and then check the fluid and brain out just enough to get back to the proper level.

Don't mean to sound redundant or anything, just trying to reinforce some ideas that other's have mentioned.

Gurantee you, if I was closer, I'd show up and give you a hand....maybe a foot. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif And, if for some reason the addition of the hydraulic fluid didn't alleviate the problem, I'd be rigging up some chain, come-along, block and tackle, winch......or any combination of the above and I'd keep inching along until I got it out. (I know that's easy for me to say.....I'm not there and really can't see just how bad the slope is etc).

This sure looks like a 2 man (person) job....do you have anybody around that can go out there with you?

I'll shut up now. Again, wish I was closer.....and good luck!

Re: What\'s ailing my bota 4610\"

Just realized the thread had moved!

I really can't contribute any good advice, especially anything that hasn't already been covered, but I am a very intrested and concerned fellow L4610 owner /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I have great faith in my beloved Kubota, but just wanted to wish you the best of luck in figuring out this strange puzzle!

ran out of daylight but was making some progress. It moves now..but you sure can't give it any throttle. Once I hit a spot that requires it to really dig those wheels in ..and i give it some throttle...tha'ts it for awhile. No Go.
here's a pic trying to show slope i'm coming up. This is from top of hill where i need to be for it to be level

Uggg, what a view. And I thought my trails were tough. I just caught up with this thread and really thought we'd see that you got her out last night. Man, I feel for you. Best of luck SMM, hope you get her home soon.

Good to hear it's able to move a little.

Patience and it may just make its way home. Perhaps a little shovell work to fill in holes or such ???

SMM, I can't believe that it is still stuck in the woods. Why don't you get a track machine, bulldozer, heavy duty wrecker, whatever, and get that @#!^# thing out of there. You've got around $30,000.00 tied up in the Kubota and you're letting it just sit there?????? Then you can take it to a dealer and have it checked over. Do you think besides the low fluid situation that when you got it stuck and trying to get it free YOU damaged the tractor. Not trying to bash you (I hope its a simple fix and she'll be running fine soon) but I was wondering if when you were trying to get out, rocking the tractor back and forth, you created an extreme amount of heat in the transmission, clutch packs, whatever. Regardless I can't believe that you haven't been able to get a track machine or something similar to free the 'bota. You mean to tell me the people you tried to hire the past couple of months with heavy equipment STILL can't come and get you out? Please keep us all informed as we're anxious to get that machine up and running. Good Luck!!!!

Re: What\'s ailing my bota 4610\"

here's a thought people,
since eveyone here say's they would like to help but for one reason or another can't (same with me 500 miles away) what would the results be if we e-mailed Carver and requested politely that he look into helping and maybe mention the fact that this post has been viewed over 9000 times . I know this would not be normal policy for a dealer because of the distance involved but it seems to be a heck of a chance to get some outstanding publicity and just show how much they do or do not give a **** about customers after sales, even if all they can do is convince a local dealer to help , this feller could use a helping hand and this seems at least to me to be one way we here could at least "maybe" help him. After all the tractor is not stuck because of anything that Smoke did , the thing refuses to move because of something mechanical.

There are two sides to every story. 1) With all respect to SMM we don't know if any abuse occurred when SMM tried to free himself, and 2) we don't know what kind of help Steve Carver has given to SMM. Now I'm not placing any blame on anyone, just that we aren't hearing Carver's side of the story. And we certainly hope it is a minor problem (hydraulic oil), and not something major. And your suggestion to email Steve Carver can't hurt.
