What about a B2630?Premium tractor with position control, silky smooth 3 cylinder engine, almost a B3030 but less money.B2630 or B3030 will handle a 5 foot box blade and 6 foot rear blade very well. Both use the LA403 loader and ATI makes a quick atach for the bucket and forks.Good Luck!

[quote=Chilly807;2436891]This reminds me of the movie "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray, where he keeps reliving the same day over and over.. this thing just keeps coming back, like a cat.

Much as I'd like to see this issue solved, you have the easiest option of all.

Take Kubota up on their offer of a refund, and be done with them. Deere, New Holland and others make good tractors without this frustrating problem. They didn't get to be the size they are by building inferior machinery. I'm brand loyal to Kubota in most things, but the 3-point thing isn't one of them.

If they've exhausted all the avenues they're willing to go down, then anything you try may void your warranty.

Mine is jumpy too (2009 L3400), but not bad enough that it overshadows everything else the tractor does so well. I've got a few ideas about how to fix it, but I'll wait until the warranty is over before I try it. And I'll have to have time on my hands, and nothing better to do, so this may take a while...

Good luck, let us know what you decide to do.

appologies to the Eagles.

Hey Sean, you do know if you really come up with a way to fix this with lets say less than $200 bucks, and 4 hours of time. You could sell this as a kit, and make yourself some real money. It's all on your shoulders now Sean.:D:D No pressure...

Pressure.. hmm??

I have a 09 L2800 and it seemed like my 3 pt jerkiness got better after a couple hundred hours. It still does it if I keep moving the lever up slow in little bits but I just pull it to about where I want it quickly and it goes up nice n smooth. At first it jerked at least once everytime I lifted it now it hardly ever does.

I was disappointed at first by the performance but as it is 300 miles to the road by boat and then another couple hundred once I get to the road to the nearest dealer I figured I would just live with it. Glad it fixed itself or maybe trained me not to notice;)

Number two.......thanks for the input, actually all of you, thank you for your input. Number two, I have an appointment on Wednesday with a man who lives about 20 minutes away from me. He has a B2630 and uses it almost exclusively like I will, to maintain a driveway. His driveway is hilly and I am told by my dealer who gave me his number, that the B2630 works wonderfully for him. The man is going to show me how it all works on his driveway. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I looked at a Kioti CK20 today. I wasn't quite as impressed as I am with the Kubota B 2630/3030. I haven't sat down with the literature and compared specs yet. I am thinking that the Kioti will beat out the Kubota on things like FEL lifting, bucket height and so forth. I may still go with the Kubota though. I'll just have to see how things work out.

I forgot to mention that yesterday my dealer hooked up a 6' heavy box scraper up to a B3030. Using the position control lever, it was silky smooth going up and down. Amazing, thats how they should all be. I was quite impressed with the 3030. I understand the 2630 is the exact same tractor, except for the engine and horse power, the 3030 having the 4 cylinder 30 hp, and the 2630 having the 3 cylinder 26 hp. We'll see how things work out tomorrow.

kubota dealers should be required to do the same thing to everyone buying an L2800-L3800 tractor. Then have the buyer sign a waiver saying they are fine with it... :2cents: :D

Now that would be admitting there IS a problem, right?? ;)

Dumb question but.... If this is a flow issue idling the tractor down should make a significant difference Vs running 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Just out of curiosity has anyone tried this? Not a solution but might point towards a possible cause and or potential solution.

I know on my little BX the faster the engine speed the quicker the lift so i would presume similar results with an "L" series but I have driven one so don't know for sure.

Even at idle it's rough, worse at higher RPM. You learn to live with it, at least I have. I'll say this much, if I ever buy another tractor I'll be checking the 3 point first. Probably I'll miss something else in the process :)

My solution (to be done shortly after Hel freezes over at this rate) will be to modify the lowering adjust valve so that it restricts the flow going past it in both directions. They are currently set up like a check valve, allowing full flow in one direction (raise) and metering it in the other (lower). Simply removing the check spring function isn't the answer, it almost has to be a separate circuit.

It's complicated enough that Kubota has shied away from it, obviously. If it were a simple fix it'd be done whenever an owner complained about it. Poor design on an otherwise really good tractor.

They are on the youtube link above, under my name... not with the spray rig but others. Just as jerky... almost as if they went out of their way to make it that way... sorry my conspiracy theory pops out every once and a while...

EDIT... actually the description I have isn't worth a hoot, if you play the ones like this, I tell you on the video high or low RPM and the adjustment of the seat knob... there a few like this. This is without a load on a boom pole... wish I had a bucket of water on the end of it.
