What's the median age of vehicles in your household?

We have an '08 Ford F250 and an '09 Ford Flex, so, considering the '14s are basically out, we are at 6 and 5, or an average of 5.5.

I assume everyone does understand the difference between "median" and "average". And of course, in some cases it's possible for both average and median numbers to be the same.

But anyway we have a 2001 and a 2002 vehicle, so the average age is 11.5 years. And no plans to replace either.

Yeah, since everyone was going with average (mean) instead of median, I decided to stick with average as well. Even though, when you have two, the median is the same as the mean.

Yes... the point is that if someone had a '34 ford coupe it wouldn't throw the numbers off as much

Bird, thank you for bringing that point up...perhaps I should have used "average" rather than "median" in the initial thread. But because I am of average IQ, I thought perhaps using the word "median" might impress the others here....

2002 Camry, 2004 Tundra, 2005 Camry...so our mean is 9.3 years.

My wife's 2012 Jeep Liberty 2005 Ford E-350 so 4.5 years

Mine 1996 Chevy 3500 1977 Ford F-350 1975 Jeep CJ-5 so average 30 years plus or minus

Together we still average 20 years plus or minus. What really tells is we don't put many miles on, 15K per year all 5 vehicles together and 10k is on my wife's 2, not your average commuter.

All three one tons are farm trucks and get used at least weekly for one thing or the other, at least one of them gets run daily, some days all three run. The Jeep Liberty is the "Family" vehicle, I just never get to drive it unless she isn't home and I sneak. The Jeep CJ just save on the 1 tons when I gotta run for parts or supplies or coffee.
