I remember a GF telling me, her Father told her that all the best Chefs don't use milk in scrambled eggs, rather water.

20 years ago, right after my divorce, I thought milk sounded good in eggs.....

I tried it and they were the worst scrambled eggs I ever had, I either add a little water or nothing other than onions now

My test for the cook in a restaurant is to order eggs over medium. Very few get it right.

you are sooo dang right, either they are watery, or they are rubbery, once in a while they get lucky and get them right!

I had not looked at this thread until just now. And I can't recall a sandwich that I didn't like. But a Dagwood is always good.

One of my favorites - thinly sliced moose tongue

Never had moose tongue, but beef tongue is sure good. I haven't seen it on a menu in this area, but my parents said it was common in Baltimore, MD, in the early 40s.

Never heard of Schlotzsky's so I looked them up and saw what their original consisted off sounds delicious .

If I eat a sandwich anywhere except at home, Schlotzsky's is my first choice. I like the original so much that I've never even tried anything else on their menu.

I have never been a fan of Applebees

We don't go there very often, one reason being that they have several menus, and rotate them in some way. So we go and find something we like (like their fajitas) and the next time that item won't be on the menu. At least that's the way it works in Denton, TX. But we've also eaten at Applebees in West Virginia and Tennessee.

What ever happened to fried bologna on toast or white bread.

I liked bologna up until I was about 16 years old. And it still ain't bad fried, but I quit buying it because of the after taste the rest of the day after eating it. Seems like I burb that taste all evening.

I loved bologna as a kid but stopped eating about adulthood. I haven't ate it since. Mom had a hand meat grinder. She would have me assist and put large chunks of baloney in the grinder for ham salad sandwiches. She grew up in a large family dirt poor so I guess that is how she was taught.

I used to love fried bologna, but have not even had it in 30+ years.

A friend a few weeks ago mentioned he still makes it.......

They do that too in Missouri. They took the Quesadilla Burger off yet it's on the national menu. It was one of the two items I ever get. They used to have decent nachos for some big chain then they changed how they were made and not as good. Our local is a roll of the dice on service so I almost always get curbside to go.
