At the deli, in the case with the other meats that they slice, they had,,,, country ham!!
We had it sliced on setting "one" (thin), and it was GREAT,, We only got a 1/4 pound, but, that is plenty, one slice at a time.
You could make a sandwich with a bun, stuff out of the garden (tomatoes, lettuce, whatever else you got) and ONE SLICE of the country ham,,
What's the difference between "country" ham and regular ham other than (from what I read online) country ham is really salty? Had never heard of it before.
When I do a ham sandwich, I like it thin sliced, but piled high. One slice isn't gonna cut it!
Don't generally put a lot of vegetables on a sandwich, maybe sliced cucumber or pepper, but that's about it. The exception would be a sub roll, then I'll load it up...onions, peppers, pickles, shredded lettuce.
Home made ham salad on whole wheat toast,
I hate it when you order a ham sandwich at a diner or something and get ham salad. Ugh. Doesn't even taste like ham, and the mayonnaise gives me the runs.
