Which Axle to Brake first, Front or Back?

Put 1 brake on one side of the front axle and the other on the opposite side ot the rear axle. :thumbsup:

:laughing: Lawyers would have fun in court with that setup. Meets the law in some states but is a :confused2: way of doing it. Fails where ours is registered.

Right now I'm hoping that I can save enough on shipping if I buy two sets that I can justify getting both now.

I agree, two sets now will be cheaper than one now and one later.
Save on shipping, it is getting more expensive anyway - and so is steel, so a second set a few months from now probably won't be the same price.
You will also save time and labor, doing both the left ones once you have that side raised won't take you twice as long as doing just one.

It will also remove the question and worry about which axle to do first.

etrailer has free shipping on any order over 150 which is way below (i just checked it was less than) $250 per axle that it takes.

I would worry about that tongue way before I worried about brakes.

I'm considering this trailer to be more of a "trailer kit". It's a work in progress. For now that tongue will be more than adequate for my little glorified lawn mower. I'll likely figure some way to modify it and reinforce it. I have an equalizer hitch for my truck, and I'd like to add an A-frame tongue somehow so I can use the equalizer someday.
