which backhoe to buy for a dk50 with cab and hydro

I do like the mount and removal of the 2485. But this hoe is so weak I was burying a horse at a neighbors farm, stopped went home and brought back the old Cub. This was sandy soil! Another time I was putting a drain in clay field and the bucket was just skipping over the soil. Even the removal of a 3" gum tree stopped this hoe. Now if you owners say your hoes are great I will try to get the proper bucket and try again. But the way I sit right now "this dog won't hunt"

Don't give up chub, there is NO WAY that hoe is working the way it should! You came here for help, so let us help- OK?!!:thumbsup:

My personal observation is if there is that much difference between the dipper stick hole and the bucket's correct pin, then you have the WRONG BUCKET!!
That fit should be snug with no play whatsoever! No wonder you have binding and no digging strength. Get them to give you the proper KIOTI brand bucket with the corresponding part number on the bucket on a part label. Verify it says Kioti on the factory label before they attach it to hour NEW HOE. I guarantee you it will fit properly and your problems will go away and you will be satisfied.
AND have them give you a new HOE too; or at least a new dipper arm at their expense since they caused the damage.:confused2:

CM thank you for putting the pix on. You can see the gap and the fractures on the machined surfaces. The more I read I am convinced this bucket is not for this machine. On first curl teeth slapped dipper I should have been smarter. So should have dealer. By the way your riper looks good for roots cutting, how does it work on small brush removal without thumb? I use a grappler to move extracted product, don't have a thumb.....might try this hoe again with correct bucket. Hope the dealer feels the same way. I have an 18 & 24 buckets that I was going to get fabricated to fit this machine until I realized how poorly it worked. That went on hold!

My ripper also has a scoop plate, you can see in the pics, so as it curls it digs too. It works great, but to tell the truth I've not had a lot of time to work it hard since I got it- but when I've used it so far it is excellent and has done everything I could want it to. I basically dig out what I want gone and then swing the ripper, in 1/2 clurled position to use the scoop to move rippings to the side of where I'm working and pick it up with the bucket after.

Too bad for how the dealer feels he messed up and needs to put it right ASAP. You paid big money for this hoe right? It should work as designed and clearly it's not. Wait until it is right and if you are still unhappy with it then we've done all we can do. I'm confident you'll be pleased once its put right.

It's not just because I have that model- I just like the way it's worked for me. I've dug a LOT of rocky New England ground with mine, and nothing has broken in over 750+ hours on two Kioti tractors since 2009.

Call your dealer principal owner and ask him to make it right tomorrow. Show him the pics from this post if that helps but don't sit waiting for them to come to you, and no more salesmen- obviously he doesn't know .... from shinola!

I'm like you, tough on equipment, which is why I went up to the DK-40 from the DK-35. I had wracked the FEL so bad even with new half moon brackets being replaced and having an extra piece welded to them for additional strength I bent the life out of them being 'careful'. I snapped a 4000# winch cable on my winch hauling trees from my woods, etc, etc.

cm can't see the scoop plate from the picks, but very impressive looking for roots.....can the scoop plate also trench for irrigation......if you get a chance can you take a frontal view, and where did you buy such a beast! I use a small bucket most of the time ....my old Kubota had a 9" 18" for footers and the 24" for sidewalks and drives and bury sites for me the smaller buckets work well after pushing tree over then cutting roots and grabbing tree and pushing aside ,,,,,sounds like your ripper would do the functions but the ripping of root would be lightyears ahead of breaking root with a tooth.....

I have the original version of the ripper on my BH90x. It can dig a shallow 1-2ft deep trench very efficiently. It can go deeper but not as efficiently as a 12" bucket.

Sorry to see the damage on your BH. That is certainly serious and also clearly the wrong pin. I have to use a mallet to get my dipper and main pins in and out.

how wide is the trench @ 18" deep? does it come with correct pins? lol with my 25mm pins I must have a bucket off a 2375 model....I guess now I will see how good the dealer is.....when the salesman and I thought the bushings where gone they did ship me new bushings...but now I think we are going to have to spend more bucks and unless this hoe was shipped as a unit, the dealer must have ordered the wrong bucket and repairs and new bucket will be on their dime I hope.....just want to be back in service working as good as other 2485.....with the fracturing around the pin hole I feel dipperstick needs to be replaced as well as bucket

I don't know how repairs are done but clearly the bushings are shot and I'd worry about the stresses that put on the boom.

The trench would be as wide as the ripper width which I am guessing is about 10 inches. It would actually be a little wider from scraping along the side of the trench. Here are some additional photos of the ripper.

Sure it wouldn't be as good but I thought about welding a sharp piece of metatl on each ouside tooth to serve as a root cutter, has anybody Ever heard of anybody doing that , I don't see how it would interfere with digging.
