Got an older one making me search to find anything about it and parts are hard to come by. It is a YM4300D with the 3T90I engine. It is getting hot on me but the radiator is clean, no bubbles in the radiator or water in the oil. Runs about 20 minutes or so before it gets to 190 and climbing. No white smoke but when lug it will put out some soot.

If the cooling fins are not plugged I would suspect the interior coolant passages are restricted with corrosion. Do you know the history of the radiator and coolant maintenance?

No clue and appears to be a ton of hours on her. I looked down into the radiator and the passages look fairly clean. You can see through the radiator as well. Fan blade looks to be in good shape but there is no shroud on it. No idea if they had one when they came out. There is no expansion water vessel either on it so i check and fill as needed. So far am running straight water in her but did put a thermostat into it as there was none when I opened her up after the first round she got hot. The tranny was full of water when I got it as well and have changed that out along with cleaned the screen in there. Sediment bowl had 3/4' of muck in the bottom as well. Many bushings are in need of being replaced I have noted as well.

This caught my eye while skimming by. I had a tractor, Dexta, perkins diesel, that if you pulled it at much over 50% power it would over heat so for a few years I just used it easily got my mowing done and forgot about it. Then one day while filling I noticed the fill neck had a hole that was letting the pressure bleed off so that the pressure cap was not able to keep the system pressurized. Water at sea level boils at 212 deg but at sea level plus 15 psi it is approximately 250 deg. Most systems use a 15 psi cap. I said all that to say this. Make sure you system is holding pressure. Take the pressure cap off your car and observe that it will boil over just crusiing perhaps and certainly if you push it a bit. Nothing wrong with the car, just obeying the laws of physics. Hope this helps

Going to go flush it out and see if can find anything in the process.

For the most part, a Yanmar 3T90 engine is a John Deere-950 or a John Deere 1050 with the turbo charger.

The YM4300 is rare here in the states, but parts still can be found. Fredricks Equipment has factory "new" radiators, water pumps, hoses and overflow bottles for them. Fredricks has only rebuilt a couple of these YM4300s in the past decade. It is seldom that any of these are found to ship over to the states because others countries literally have a high demand for them; Mainly Australia and Russia.

Do not ever use tap water in a cooling system. RO or distilled water are the only two to use.

My new-to-me 2wd YM1401.

3cly pushing about 14Hp. Was this used or refurbished?

A simple single axle flatbed trailer would haul this around really easy.

Did it come with ROPS? If not, check out Fredricks here: http://www.fredricksimporting.com/rops-manuals Your unit may take a ROPS-1 or ROPS-2 setup. These ROPS are foldable and the best insurance against serverly getting hurt or death.
