2014 mahindra 3016 shuttle loader and backhoe with thumb
i have owned 3 kubotas in the past 20 years. I would like to try a Mahindra this time around looking at 26xltlb and the 3016 tlb.We just bought a new place with 5 acers lost of falling stone walls that needs rebuilding rocks from 1lb to 1000lbs want to use backhoe with thumb to stack also stumping pine stump drainage work and grading. So which one and why thanks

Not sure about the other model, but the 3016 is a rock solid reliable workhorse from all I've seen (know two people with them and they work them hard) and all I've read.

The 3016 is "last years model"....or should I say being phased out....The new 15 series is comparable with 3016....The 15's look a little bigger and have the tier 4 engines....

you may find the 26 a little small for your needs. The 3016 would be better suited, size wise....if you can find one. The 15 series replaces the 3016 but with more HP and more $.

Even though the Max26 and the 3016 spec out fairly close, the 3016 is quite a bit bigger and handles max loads with less drama. Also more lift height and the backhoe is noticeably bigger/stronger. For your tasks, I'd go with the 3016. There are a few left in stock here and there. I think I had about 100 last fall and have retailed all but a handful. The 1533 is a sweet machine, but as a Tier IV you will pay $3k or so more for it. It is a little longer, a little heavier and has some nice features, so you are not just paying a "Tier IV penalty", you are getting more tractor at the same time.

You local dealer can do a search on his dealer portal, or call his Mahindra rep to see if any are available in his region.

Odds are he has already asked his rep and either no dealers have them, or if a dealer does have one he is not willing to transfer it. You and I are on opposite coasts, so that will never work. I bet there are a few in stock somewhere.

yes, and HST version with loader and BH.

It's the perfect tractor for my needs. I had an old Ferguson TO30 for 20+ years and wanted something in the same approx size range. The 3016 is certainly lighter but HP wise and over all size it's very close, so that was what I wanted. It's very well made, runs like a top, is powerful, reliable and overall a very well made, dependable machine.

FEL lift capability is very good and the BH is well designed, sturdy, and operates very well.

I was concerned about the cold over the past winter, as it is my first diesel, bit I found that it always started very quickly no matter how cold it got. The fact that it's all built by Mitsubishi make it rank higher than the other models, in my mind.

If you can find one, buy it.

Road trip!

I have 3 Shuttles and 8 HST and then we are all done with this very popular model. Other dealers probably thought I was crazy when I bought about a hundred of these 16 series last fall, but I'm glad I did. Less than a dozen remaining. We are big fans of the Mitsubishi product.

Keep calling dealers in a widening radius, I am guessing each region has a handful somewhere. And it might be at some low volume dealer back in the sticks, so check them all.
