Which "Power Wheels Dune Racer" Type Vehicle Is Best?

I wouldn't get an electric for heavy duty off roading but around the yard they are fine. We have owned several. Currently have the John Deere tractor with trailer and it goes about anywhere except mud.

We have two grandchildren, 4 and 7 years old, it is almost spring,,,
THESE KIDS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE YET!!
(What is wrong with these Millennial parents, anyways!??)

Us grandparents need to get these kids driving,,, (I need to get my grass cut in a few years!)

Pretty impressive, LOOKING,, I have never owned such a thing,,, minute and a half video,,,

Our almost 5 year old has that exact dune racer and loves it. He's been driving it since he was 2. The battery is about shot now and we'll be buying a new one soon.

WOW,, the battery is pricey!! :confused2: I did finally order it,, $199 delivered,, it will be here in a week.

Is the "build" difficult?? Do I have to get my workbench cleared off??
or can I build it on the kitchen floor?

There's always that one guy that randomly uploads a video on YouTube lol. Video looks like it was taken with a toaster but the build doesn't look hard. Looks like this guy used the living room floor. With assistance from the driver lol.

Hopefully it gets to the right house, the FedEx guy showed up at my house just today wanting a signature for a package that he didn't even have the right address or name lol, I'm like dude that's not for this house and that's not my neighbors either, guy was oblivious and said his truck said my house was where the package goes.

Two other neighbors randomly get mail delivered to my house with my address, so I would triple check the address is correct and track it lol. FedEx is bad around this neck of the woods, I'm not the only one that has had probs with them.

I put an ad on craigslist for a Battery Powered Gator. The guy I bought it from had put a regular car battery in the back of it (12v). I put the battery in a case and bought a 12v charger from Harbor Freight and installed it in the case. Just plug it in to charge. Lasted hours. The batteries that come with those ride on toys are meant to last minutes. Frustrating for you and the grandchildren.

Get em a gas powered golf cart and disable the governor. What doesn't kill em will make em stronger.

Yep, 3 wheeled golf carts got real cheap when the local courses stopped letting them in (something about damaging grass). We ended up with two, first a Cushman with 6hp, upgrade motor to 8hp and put seat on back with platform... they put many hours on that. The second was a '76 Harley Davidson (formerly AMF at that point) that had two stroke in it, with governor and restricted muffler. Removed governor, they ran it all over several years until it overheated and scored cylinder.. still have it, just need to rebuild engine.

It is certainly part of their childhood memories..

Well,, the family room became the "workshop" today,,,

It arrived yesterday, today, I invited my 5 year old granddaughter over to build it.
She loves Legos,, this is just a big Lego set,, but,, you need a screw gun to assemble.

We cut the box open,, out popped this,,,

Anna jumped right in,, she would read the instructions,, I would help interpret.

Anna did the assembly, except for about a half dozen "difficult to align" pieces,,
Pop-pop helped with those.

Right at 2 hours later,,, we are sitting around,, waiting for the battery to charge.

It was a fun rainy day project with my granddaughter,,, :thumbsup:

Anna is a great mechanic,, she is not afraid to tackle anything,,
