Which PowerService

Is that right?! If you gell up; PowerService 911 Diesel can right the wrongs of those nasty paraffins? I'm assuming that you would still have to drop the filter and replace with a new one, yes? I've had diesels a few years now and (knock on forehead..) never had a problem until this year when my 970 quit me one morning at -2 degrees. I'd already used the tractor this winter during a couple of early cold snaps that got down to -12F and no problemo. So, it was a surprise that my Rotella fuel treatment didn't move those waxy globs down the pipe for me this past week. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Good tip for furture reference, thanks. AKfish

No filter change....just dump a bottle in the tank (read the directions for smaller capacities), go inside and have a hot toddy and then when you are warm and toasty, go fire it up.

I have 100 gallons on each side and a bottle on each side does the trick.

Locally, most places just carry the white bottle.. I occasionaly see the silver bottle at TSC.. but it is the same price..

I've got a 275 gallon tank for a fuel station. I used the gray stuff in it back in September. It's been down to 20 below here and I haven't have a problem yet. Is there a way to test how much protection I have? Maybe I should get some of the white bottle and add to be on the safe side. Or add some kerosene.

Set a little jar of treated fuel outdoors where it will get colder than the tractor. Watch the jar.

( My white bottle Powerservice has a foil anti-tamper seal over the opening. I simply poked a screwdriver-sized hole in the foil near one side and a smaller hole in the foil on the other side. Now I can pour it at a 90 degree angle and a little stream just shoots out. No dribbles or anything.)

This is probably the best piece of advice I've heard yet. I did it last time around, and it poured perfectly w/o any mess. As they say in the Guiness commercials, "Brilliant!!"
