I didnt have to change a thing when I bought my QH from HF. Funny thing is I havent seen coupon for HF QH for a long time now.
Harbor Freight QH
Thanks to a forum member I got a 40% of coupon on a HF QH. When I called HF they said they had them when I arrived they could not find them. On my third visit they found them. When I finally got home I found the bolts that hold and adjust the top hook vertically on the QH ran into the vertical frame on my rake, BS, & blade, preventing the hook from engaging. Some mod or alternative pin arrangement would be required
On two attachments the BS & RC the hook gap was narrow to engage the top link pin. It appears designed to engage a type two hitch pin (1.125"). These fixed top pins were 1.25" on my equipment. One was welded in place the other appeared to fitted into the support struts and held in place with a large .75" bolt.
On the box scraper the hook was an eighth of an inch to wide (or the attachment to narrow) to enter and engage the top pin.
The rotary cutter top engagement point was higher than the others, although this could be modified if I could do fabrication. Or I would need to adjust the Top hook vertically on the QH.
As I believe noted else where on the forum the type one bottom pins need to be shimmed up to type two size (.75" to 1.125") to fit the QH.
Lastly the tow hitch with cross bar I have will not work at all (at least without a lot of welding).
So in the end I had a list of at least 3 mods to the QH and 3 or 4 to the attachments. So I chose to return it as I figured I would not have time to do all the fixes and would end up removing the QH to hook up at least one or two attachments.
.
Please don't take this as a gripe or complaint. If I had a heated garage and a little more time I would have enjoyed making the mods and having a QH for the most often used attachments. . I'm mainly kind of documenting my experience I hope
Update I ordered Pat's today after reading this and another forum.
Thank you
