Who rides motorcycles?

Been riding since I was a kid back in the '70s. My current bike is an '85 Honda Goldwing Interstate, which I affectionately call The 'Oldwing.

"Voodoo Red"- a 1983 Kawasaki KZ1100 A-3 shaft drive model, full Vetter fairing/trunk/hardbag/accessories. I am the 2nd owner. Original owner bought it new at Kawasaki of Muskogee. I live near Okmulgee. Working on completing RN, will reward myself with a new Concours 14 supersport/touring. That way I have the best of both worlds for Kawasaki inline 4/shaft drive- vintage pavement burner or blazingly fast twisty carver.

Coming up on 3000 miles on the new FJ and several weeks of riding weather left!

Also, grandson just finished the MSF course and we took a 3 generation ride Tuesday: Me on the FJ, his Mom on her new Bolt and Jarod on Mom's old Ninja. Jarod is 18, 6-2 and 210, so the 250 Ninja struggles a bit with that load.

Going to look at an '86 Honda Nighthawk today as Jarod's first bike. Everything looks and sounds good over the phone and via Facebook, don't expect any surprises when we put the Mark I eyeball on it this afternoon. I'll get a picture or 6 of our next 3-gen ride.

That's pretty cool. I'm the only rider in my family. I don't see either of my sons taking it up, or any of the grandkids. Looking forward to the pics.

I've always wanted a Concourse. I will have one someday, it would complement my 990 quite well!

How are you liking that 1190? Must be quite a bike.

I managed to find my son an Oset 12.5 which I posted about earlier. It was his 4 year birthday present.
Before learning to ride on the Oset, he couldn't ride a bicycle. After 3 days riding the Oset he told me he was ready to try riding his bicycle. He got on it and started pedaling right away. I really think this could be the best way to teach a kid to ride a bike!

I wish I could find/buy somewhere my old 82' Kawasaki KZ1000 MKIII. Good times. I'd probably kill my self on it now - but I still want it back.

Snagged that '86 Nighthawk today. Needs some love but basically very sound. Got it home and fixed a couple of minor things (taillight wiring, horn, straightened the shifter, burped a little air into the air-over forks) and it's more than good enough to ride for the rest of the season.

This winter I'll pull the carbs off, run 'em through the sonic cleaner and kit 'em, break out my manometer and synch 'em back up on the bike. Couple of pieces of plastic should be replaced and I'll want to go through the brakes real well (don't trust 30 year old rubber brake hoses...) but for $750 I think we did REAL well.

Particularly since it has a totally virginal Corbin seat, new rubber on the back and a new tire for the front is sitting in my pickup.

Store it with avgas 100LL for the winter and never look back.
