I got one tx25 bought it 5/2/23 at Clarion PA. do yourself a favor and get on the tractor and try actually starting the tractor -like key placement-and operating the tractor controls like the handle placement for rear hydraulic against seat and leg very uncomfortable, placement of the 4x4 control.i'm serious look at these at 73 years old and little heavy you can't do anything with them.i have to get off tractor to put it in 4x4 then get back on .now be sure to check all hydraulic connections had three leaking and have one i can't get to stop yet have a call into summit for a new hose and fitting but haven't had a call back yet.well enough ranting just glad i haven't sold my rk19 yet
Hello! We are very sorry to hear that you are having trouble with one of your hydraulic connections. Please give us a call or message us your contact information and we will have a service manager reach out to you ASAP!

I have about 25 hours on the TX25 now. No regrets or major issues to report so far. I was greasing the loader and there is one pin I could not get grease into. I pulled the pin out and couldn't find any obvious issue. I ran some grease through it and cleaned out the pin hole and put it back together. I was able to get some grease to go in but then it got tough to pump again. I ordered a Locknlube so I will see if that helps.

So far, I have used it to dig up some stumps, yard clean up with grapple bucket, spread 24 yards of garden soil, clean up a trash pile, gravel driveway repair and reconditioning, till a 48'x48' garden, row bed the garden.

This weekend I will use it to start putting in a path to the lower portion of the property. I have two large trees that fell down recently and need to be cleaned up. I have old buildings on the property that I am demolishing and loading into a trailer to haul off. There are also some old trash piles to clean up from the past owners.

Surprised nobody's asked for pics yet!
So... pics?

Bear in mind this is my first tractor, so my observations are not colored or biased by any other brand or tractor. I have only ever rented and operated a small skid steer and excavator.

1. Quality of the unit
I am pleased with the quality of the unit so far. Fit and finish is very good in my opinion.
2. Reliability of the unit
30 hours on the clock and no major issues. There is a pin on the loader that is not taking grease, but it could be just a tight tolerance and will wear in over time.
3. Capability
It has plenty of capability for what I need so far. I am installing a new garden. I used a 5' box blade with ripper shanks to break up the ground first. I bought a 6' tiller, and it worked fine. The manual says to use a 4.5" one but that wouldn't really cover the width of the tractor. I just went slow with it and listened to the tractor tell me what speed to go depending on the toughness of the terrain.
4. Support.
I have been in contact with Summit support so far and they have been very helpful and are taking care of me.
5. Control and comfort.
I added this category. I am 6'3" and about 250lbs. I can get on and off without too much trouble. It would be nice if the seat would go back a few more inches. Once on the tractor the controls are pretty well laid out. The parking brake is centered below the seat and is a little awkward to operate. The key is low and hard to see when seated. I think for future models they should look at these three items. After that comfort is good, the seat I would say is very comfortable and premium, especially compared to my lawn tractor. The controls you use most are easy to reach and comfortable to operate, with exception of the parking brake. I am not real sure why the loader control stick is so tall. It seems oddly tall. It is not uncomfortable or awkward to operate. But I think if it was shorter, I would like it better. The FWD lever is low on the left side. I don't find it to be difficult to operate from the seated position. But I don't have any reason to engage and disengage the FWD in my use so far. It's a compact tractor and I understand there is only so much space and over all I think they laid it out well.

I look forward to seeing your pictures, and your review really aligned with my general impression of the Summit, admittedly having not seen one in person. It really seems like a good little tractor.

Thank you for the photos! They're quite well equipped little machines, and they look to be well built.

A few things, if I may?

I can't believe you're the first person I've seen to use magnetic tool box accessories on a tractor, it seems so simple, but I've never even considered it.

What do you think of the Speeco E-Hitch?

Lastly, that K30 3+3 is absolutely wonderful; what year is she?

You may. The Summit TX25 only has a couple little depressions in the fenders for "storage". I took the tool kit that came with it in the welcome kit and put it in the cross tube on the loader. Then I was thinking to myself, self, I can't possibly store all that I could need with me on this tractor at a moment's notice with what is the onboard storage. I have always looked at the toolbox magnetic storage solutions and thought that's cool, but I don't want that crap hanging on my toolboxes. Then a bit of magic and inspiration hit me and jam, clang, grind I decided to order some for the tractor. Long story short it seemed a nifty way to utilize some space on the back of the tractor without drilling holes randomly and bolting on crap I may hate and or regret later. Like getting a tattoo "No regerts!"

I think the Speeco quick hitch is great. It is even greater since I got the hydraulic top link. I spent the first grueling week of tractor ownership fighting with the top link, bottom link things and pins and I can't tell you how, but I got them all mixed up and lost... Now I can back up to the box blade, or other implement, and pick it up without all that hassle. Thanks, Speeco!

Oh, did you notice the ol' Chevy 3+3 I conveniently, unintentionally inconspicuously, purposely let slip into the background of the Summit TX25 pictures you asked for? It's my trifecta of diesel vehicles. Don't mind the 2006 Dmax. You're looking at a 1978 model, "factory" equipped with a brand new 12v 5.9 Cummins, with compound turbos, a 48RH transmission, NP205 transfer case, and more upgrades than a Hengear hen laying box.

If you're thinking of adding a hydraulic top link, to the TX25 it's not quite a simple bolt on. I will do a write up on this. Minor tractor deconstruction is required. I have added a safety knob on the 3 point hydraulics to keep others from inadvertently adjusting my settings.

Your writing style gave me a solid chuckle, you ought to stick around!

Getting ever closer to signing papers to get one.

It appears the hydraulic top link is an accessory that I would really like to have. Is there a thread on the installation? I did a quick search and didn't find it. I have put off buying for the last few years as I am still away from home but it is time. I currently have a subcompact tractor but really wanting the size of the Summit. Also noted was the availability in Central Illinois through a couple dealers.

Any new opinions of them now that they have been out for a few years?

What's the out the door price on the tractor you are buying?

The price I saw listed from one of the farm stores was $19,500.
Just my opinion here.
For the size, options and qualities that I noted when looking them over, I would not go so far as to say it is a bargain but I would say it is definitely a fair price and good value to me. Being realistic, I would never intend to sell or trade it in. This would probably be my last new tractor purchase and I can get all the options I want. Small tractors have gotten much more option and feature oriented over the last several years. They Summit has been set up right from the factory. The available options makes it just about perfect to me.

I bought my first compact tractor back in 1979 when I started building my house. It was a 17HP Kubota B7100HST with FEL and backhoe (not shown).

Initially, I used it to dig the foundation footings for the house in the background. Over the next 20 years, I used it to do other large projects like septic systems, road grading, snow plowing, landscaping & mowing. Not as fast as a larger machine, but given time, it's truly amazing what these little tractors can do.

Nice......
I bought a new CC/Yanmar in 2009. Who knew a couple years later that venture would go south? No matter, it is a great little tractor and back hoe. I have used it for a bit of everything over the years. Some things that I am pretty sure would be not have been approved by the manufacturer but it survived and lives well yet today. I have some farm acreage that I rent out so I don't need a big tractor. On the rare occasion that I have, I borrowed one from the guy that farms my ground. I am ever amazed by what can be accomplished with a smaller tractor. It looks like you have done well with yours. I'll keep my CC/Yanmar but want just a bit larger size, hence my interest in the Summit. Just fits my needs. I don't need higher HP or even a cab.

There is a Farm and Home Supply store in Quincy Illinois that is selling Summit tractors. They look decent and the price is OK. It’s hard to tell on prices these days since I bought my JD pre Covid.

I did see that. I am not familiar with the company but that really doesn't mean anything. There is actually a small dealer even closer to my house. Not a TSC type store but more like a small tractor dealer. Just my opinion but I think the prices advertised on the Summit website are reasonable to me. Tractors will never be as cheap as they used to be. That said, the tractors we are buying new today are more complicated but also more capable in comparable sizes. The OEMs all seemed to go through a build it cheap phase years ago in the tractors. Today it seems like they are actually building with a much more quality and user friendly focus. Times change and a good manufacturer changes also to keep up. They ain't cheap no more but "reasonable". I can easily imagine one of these lasting several generations just like the tractors of my youth with adequate maintenance. Also a lot nicer to operate with or without a cab. (y)

There has to be some new owners in the past few months. I'm still giving it a little thought on the accessories list but pretty much set on the tractor and looking forward to seeing what others are doing.
