Thought I would post the outcome of the foam filled tires. I finally got back into the woods where the tractor has sat for the last month. it was not to hard to put the tires on with someone to help. the tires are heavy with the foam in them ( 200 pounds each,) but they don't have as much bounce as a regular tire, and this made them easier to handle. I ran the machine out almost 2 miles, and I could tell it rolled a little different, but not enough to even think about. I would recommend getting them filled, if you are contemplating any kind of demo work at all.

Foam filled tires can also develope flat spots [ soft spots that get worse with age ], and can have side to side runout [wiggle] if not filled properly. Not saying that filling with foam is a bad thing, but it is not all peaches and creme...

I guess anything you do anymore has to be weighed against cost, and reliability. I lost some business, because the machine was down due to multiple flat tires. Having them foam filled means a little rougher ride, and maybe some soft spots, as you describe. However in the longer run I won't be down, because the front tires are flat ever again.

I couldn't agree more Davyp38. I had numerous flats on my B21 causing downtime and once I filled them never had a problem again in three years. I will getting the fronts on my B26 done soon.

Davy, what is the "long term" results of this?

It has been 7 years now. I'd love to have someone on here comment.

My front tire has been punctured and repaired 3 times so far this Spring due to freakin' bamboo poking holes in there. Like Davy, each time means no use of the tractor until it is fixed, and all tractor tire repair places around here only work the same hours I do. Getting a tire fixed is a serious inconvenience.

^^^This is why I had my rears on the BX foamed filled plus added stability... no regrets except not getting it done sooner.

Too many weekend plans were dashed by tire issues.

Fronts were slimed and this has worked well too.

I had the front tires on my B2910 foam filled the first year I bought it. That was about 12 (or more) years ago. Great move on my part.

About 10 years ago I had all four tires on my BX2200 foam filled. Adds a lot of weight down low and give great stability on side slopes. AND no more punctures!

I would probably foam fill the rear tires on my B2910 if punctures were an issue, but this has not been the case. Those tires are liquid filled with windshield washer fluid.

Foam is a great permanent solution. The only drawback is the cost...

For me it was always the rears having trouble.

The BX fronts are very small and several cautioned me about filling them as it could add stress to the front axle with less give.

I'm getting the fronts only filled tomorrow.

Do you remember what you paid to fill all 4 tires, Bill?

I've got LOTS of hills, so having those back tires filled would be great! I just need to get the front tires filled now so that I can address all the growth in the yard.
