Why are hoses hard to connect???

I had the Waite Hydraulic Decompression Tool up until I had my tractor serviced, I kept it in the tractor toolbox and didn't think to clear the box out before sending it to the shop. I liked it, it a good simple tool although some folks think it's too pricey.

My implements include a grapple, Lane Shark and a tree puller. All are outside and the temperatures here can vary 50 degrees in a day, now add the Sun beating onto the equipment and the pressure rise can be amazing. I don't get a drop or two using that tool, there have been times I'd get a literal spray of oil. If you didn't wrap a rag around the fitting and used a mallet, you'd be wearing that oil possibly in your eyes.

I may change the fitting out in the future, but everything is a two hour drive from the house right now and I don't have the time if I want to get anything else done.

So you guys are happy with the X-Boom. With the energy I had to use before coming up with a system that works for me, I would think that the hand grippe would break or the bar section would bend before connectors moved. That's why I was trying to buy that HOLP-ON clamp.

I am one of the happy X-Boom campers.

I suspect you are correct. The tool does indeed appear to be a standard clamp with custom jaws. And yep, at a premium price, The "custom" aspect is what makes for the ability to charge the premium.

The one that you linked is rated at 300 pounds.
The one that XBoom buys from Irwin and modifies is the HD version rated at 600 pounds:

I like the idea of the XBoom, but you have to have space to insert both jaws. No problems for couplers with hoses on both sides, like a grapple on the front loader. But wouldn't help me with connecting the backhoe to my rear remotes since I don't think I could get the far end of the clamp around the female hose end on the back of the tractor.

Measure it. They make an 18 inch model.
Mine is the 12 inch.

If you would clarify a couple of things I have not noticed in your posts.

1) Is this the grapple side or the tractor side?

2) what type of grapple do you have and how do you store it? In my previous post, I proposed that the top tines not being grounded are creating pressure, which needs to be mitigated. Got pictures of grapple and how you store it?

3) Do you have other hydraulic loader implements and do they suffer the same problem?

If you were to detach that grapple just as it is, you would have pressure on the opening side of the cylinders.
