Why do people not want to work?

Many people today are far to preoccupied with their phones and social media status.. to even be on a job site. Locally, every other street is being dig up for one reason of another. This means there are cops at either end of the construction site directing traffic.. more than just a couple time since I have driven up to see them off the side of the road on the phone. And not paying attention to traffic. .. now if something were to happen at that time...I can only imagine the spin that would take place to blame the car operator.

The bubblewrapped ones would have shut that operation down. Heck, it wouldn't have made it past the safety meeting.

What a changed world. If you worked outside of an office, your last contact with home was when you left in the morning and wouldn't likely happen again until you returned. Life worked without all that meaningless communication AND apparently we were less stressed than today.

yea im in my 30's and didn't see much generalizations.. your successful got it, then 99% of this thread wasn't aimed at you. not sure why your taking any form of an insult

A smart phone is a productive tool, that reduce the time I have to sitt in a office, I do banking, sendes invoices, keeps track of time, and let me get parts and supplies, I even have a card terminal connected so I can get paid on the spot.

So people starring at the phone dosent mean that they don't work...

So you take a job with chemicals involved back in the day, we didn't have google to check to see exactly what we were dealing with nor did most people know the implications of many normal everyday chemicals. Today there is no excuse, if you don't know what you are working with and are to lazy to find out, that would be you're problem.

Mine can sit in my truck dead for six days. Funny but my life goes on. And if the whole system crashes some day, I won't be having withdrawal symtoms. The more stuff in my control and not run by outside forces, the better, as far as I am concerned.

I love my cellphone. I have had it for one year and it has rang one time. I don't need it but keep it because someday I may.

I read somewhere that the average age for kids to move out is 27. By the time I was 27 I had fought in a War, got married, had two Sons. Left home at 18.

Jumped freight trains. Had a leg cut off, and sewed it back on, AND showed up for work. Tough as nails. lol
