I know of companies now who insist that the consumers actually WANT the item to be less than perfect... it's just part of the price to pay for getting something at a low cost.
I'll be darned. I think we have just figured out my problem. I must be identified somewhere in some giant consumer database as one of those customers who actually WANTS things to be delivered to me less than perfect! :( I wonder how I get that mistake corrected???

Man... that sure would explain a lot!!!

Don
Does it really matter? Does anyone ever collect anything on one of those claims? I certainly haven't. :(

UPS and the US Postal service now have an agreement to 'crossover' packages. So.....it may be sent out UPS ground and show up on your doorstep carried by a US Postal worker.

If you don't like one or the other, you still may encounter both services.

Hmmmmmmm...I wonder which one you'd call for a damaged delivery?

Don

Aah, yes, Don. It's known as UPS Mail Innovations with a separate tracking system from the regular UPS tracking, and I've received a couple of things through that system. It makes no sense to me, but it must to someone.

Oh Lordy Curly!!! What on earth have you been up to???

You buy that magnificent new monster tractor... and already you are ready to sell???

It must be to move up to an even bigger one... right??? :D

Dougster

p.s., My cash offer is still good... assuming, of course, that you haven't already managed to destroy that fine new beast! -d :p

It's still in tack...well, except for the 2 fitting thingees I destroyed. But I guess I will keep it, though another day like yesterday and I may just give up tractoring all together. I can't golf either so I guess we aren't all made for all sports...and tractoring is kinda like a sport ain't it:D

But I still may call you on that deal...comes with accessories.

Dougster

p.s., Just found your last couple days worth of posts! You have been busy making a mess... haven't you? :D -d

Now this is amazing. I did not know of (or ever even think about) the possibility of shipping tires via USPS. My luck with the USPS has definitely been much better than with UPS or Fed-Ex Ground... but still far from perfect... mainly because what's shipped via USPS has tended to be smaller and lighter probably.

My only concern about shipping tires via USPS would be how they would stuff them into my mailbox... but let me tell you: Based on past experience, they absolutely WOULD figure out a way to do so!

Well, if you have a big enough mail box...

The tires I shipped were 27" Vampires mounted on the rims for a Yamaha ATV. They weighed around 40 pounds each.

I get packages from the USPS all the time that they have to set at the door because they are too big for our large mail box.

Robert, you would be amazed at how and what they manage to cram into my standard-sized mailbox. It's like a big game with them. If they win, they get to drive on. If they lose, they have to stop the truck, get out and come to my door. Any size envelope (including those giant, over-sized padded ones that can hold almost anything) gets curled-up until it fits. Any size box gets crushed down to size like an elephant stepped on it. Sometimes they are lazy and they cheat... by leaving the mailbox door open and balancing the oversized box on the door. It's good (as far as they are concerned) so long as it doesn't fall down until after they have left my street. And if there are ever two extra-large envelopes or boxes... they simply hang onto one and deliver it the next day.

The bottom line is that they are masters at avoiding the dreaded "trip to the recipient's door"! Only twice in the last several years have they come to my door... well, actually backed-up into my driveway... and that was for truck tire chain sets too heavy for them to pick-up (They called me outside to retrieve them)... let alone stuff into the mailbox. :D

I think it depends on your definition of perfect. To the shipper/seller, if they can get it in some sort of box/shipping container, get it off their property, "and" receive some sort of monetary compensation, to them that is perfect. Just because it arrived/or not, at your place, broken, in pieces, missing pieces, the wrong size pieces, or not the pieces you thought you bought, too bad. Used to be if you went to the store and bought a part, got home and it was the wrong part, you could take it back and get your money back or the right part.

Sign in a parts house "If you bought the wrong part, you now have a spare"

It's called the Game of Life.

Thats the truth! When our mail lady has a package she can't put in or hang on the mailbox* she comes up in the drive and lays on the horn mercilessly until we come out, she won't get out of the car! If we aren't home we don't get it or a note that day.

* they'll hang it on the mailbox handle in a plastic grocery bag sometimes. Rain expected? The don't care, so what if the bag fills up and ruins the package:cool:
