Why is green paint so expensive?

I wish I could tell you where the plants are in the US but I am not a big Deere follower to take time to remember these things. The large tractors are made here and then exported. I do know the 60 series combines are made right here in the US at the Harvester Works, in East Moline, IL. I think the tractors are made in Waterloo, IA.

CNH builds the TG/MX tractors here as well as the TV and the combines. I can not tell you what models Agco builds as I could never keep up with that company.

A freind of mine has a new Case IH MXM-120 and it was made in England.

I never said the MXM was made in the US. The MXM is the same as the NH TS-A and they are both made in England. The MX (confusing, I know) is the same as the TG and it is made here in the states. The MX is the large frame Case-IH tractors, one step below the articulated STX/TJ line.

This expensive green paint is starting to get me worried.

Our truck is green and in serious need of new paint. Will a different colour paint job be cheaper?

Big tractors are not all JD builds in the US. The 4000-20 series (thier largest CUT's) are built here (near Atlanta I believe). Even the engines on these are JD Powertechs not Japanese Yanmars.

I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about all the different mx series. I believe the Case IH MXM's are the same as the NH TM's and the Case IH MXU maxxum's are the same as the TS-A NH's.

CNH really needs to clean up their model designations for the Case line, there is way too much confusion with MX, MXM, JX, JXU, etc.

Years ago Dubuque Hams were from Dubuque, Iowa but not for a few decades, now. Now it is just a brand name that is recognized and so of some marketing value, not unlike import tractors painted a popular color and hyped.

P.S. My wifes folks lived the last decades of their lives in Dubuque so I have been there and you can trust me, they don't have a Deere plant (or a Dubuque Ham packing operation which was even more of a dissapointment!)

John Deere does not make tractors in Dubuque, but they definitely have a plant in Dubuque; in fact they are Dubuque's largest employer. Here is a quote from the John Deere Dubuque Works web site:
