Why no heavy duty Chevy pickup?

No. Your 'life" is telling YOUR interpretation of what YOU think is "the truth." Everyone isn't required to see things exactly the way you do, and their "truth" may be different than yours...and that's "the truth."

That was not my quote. That was Sawyer Robs

So, that means I'm telling the truth of how or what happen to me, I'm not trying to tell how it happened to you, or anyone else...

Has it dawned on you, that IF you don't like MY post you don't have to read them?? Then again, you must enjoy them, you are reading them... lol

I would think someone who doesn't answer questions from the OP of the thread would just glide on by but nope. So you have a 1 ton Ford, what year? You say you have several diesel trucks, what year trucks? Lets not go back 15-20 years here.. The thread is new heavy trucks, lets get the thread back on track and not argue with the other members..

Geee, I thought my one ton Ford and my one ton Dodge were HD! I guess not...

My NEW trucks aren't one ton trucks...

And, what new one ton trucks do you have??

I had one new one every two years from 2001 until 2015, no more trucks. You guys can have them.. It's not worth the trouble of owning the new high tech trucks anymore unless you're making money with them..

This is just speculation, but I believe that's because they expect the med and (true) heavy duty trucks to be driven all day every day and rack up a half million miles in no time. De-rating the engine will make it last longer, and that's extremely important to a fleet manager.
I would agree with that thought. If you dig into medium duty truck engine specs like on the 3126 CAT, you are going to see what 210-maybe 250HP? Basically IMHO, throw away engines, they should still run 500-800k miles if maintained and driven correctly.

A lot of medium duty trucks are non CDL so you have shall I be nice and say less than stellar drivers at the wheel? The big three know that HP and torque ratings sell trucks which is one reason why you such offerings in the hot pickup market.

 Those days are gone too. Power steering, power brakes and auto trannies have put a huge dent in the CDL market. Now alot of drivers are just not much more than "steering wheel holders".

I was told by a guy that drives for WM that they now have special driver licenses for automatic transmission tractors..

You have to certify with a manual transmission truck if you intend to legally drive a manual transmission truck but I haven’t heard of a special license for automatic.

Manual Transmission Restrictions on your CDL – CDL Training. ... Per the FMCSA, if you test on an automatic equipped vehicle, you get an restriction on your license that prohibits you from driving a truck with a manual transmission.
