Wife Destroyed Brand New S240 Sport -- What to Do?

Hey, looks like we have all bent, broken, mauled or mutilated something. That's what can happen when you use implements. Want to keep it pristine - park it in the garage, cover with a tarp & never use it. Fix as best you can, tell the wife you understand & move on. Life is too short to be mad/upset - its just a thing.

Tell her you love her and glad she is OK but you have a lot of work to do on the mower and your favorite (meal, treat, night out, fill in blank) would make you feel better. You both win!

I agree with the others try to fix it and move on. I make lots of mistakes, most people who are busy do too. At least your wife was trying to help with the chores, you should appreciate that and keep your mouth shut.

If I was your spouse, I'd be ticked that you bought such a fragile piece of equipment. :laughing:

I was kind of surprised (and disappointed) it did all that damage myself.

I've done small engine repair on the side for going on 20 years now and have never seen one do this.

BUT - nobody hurt, can maybe be fixed

Life goes on.

This is an educational experience. DO NOT DISCOURAGE her from using the tractor. Unless she's like "hired help" that takes your equipment for a joyride the better she can use your equipment, the more she can help, if she wants to.

It's like doing the laundry. I don't like folding clothes, it hurts my hands (arthritis?) so occasionally I've put a bright red piece in with whites (like underwear where I don't care if they get dyed). Invariably I'm banned from doing laundry for a few years.

If she wrecks something again question her motives

But 10 years down the road when you ruin her new vacuum because you cleaned up something that clogged, you've got your "But Honey, remember when you ruined the mower deck?".
