I see Toyota has increased it's hourly rate to it's non union employees commensurate with the UAW's pay increase. I would imagine that they don't want the UAW to make any inroads in their non union employees factories.

No, it proves that wage price inflation is a thing. The union ultimately just makes the numbers bigger for everyone. Purchasing power stays the same or gets worse.

I tend to disagree with your premise. In today's employment market, unions have outlived their usefulness and in reality, all the do is protect the marginal employee and collect monthly dues the pizz away on themselves.

I bet if the rank and file UAW members knew what their fearless leader was up to with Stellantis, they boot him real quick.

Organized labor hierarchy is all about graft, greed and corruption at the expense of their dues paying members and it's always been that way, I might add and the ONLY reason why Toyota did what the did was they got wind of Fain's push to organize them, something which has failed before.

The middle class evolved out of the post WWII expansion. What was the post WWII expansion? Democracy.

Prior to WWII, the US was the only Democracy. The world was ruled by monarchs and communist dictators. The world saw that freedom was novel and everyone wanted to be us or do business with us. That is when we became a superpower. Just like ships in the sea, everything rises with the coming tide.

The industrial revolution was great, but it was prior to the idea of monopolies are bad and need broken up. Also, the industrial revolution was bad for workers, they got paid cheap and all the profits ended up with the rockerfellers, Getty's, Morgans, Carnegie, Ford, Vanderbilt, etc. These dudes drove the need for Unions, but .gov broke up monoplies and effectively put an end for the need of Unions.

Slowest one is a Stellantis 3500 pickup. Based on how many are on dealer lots compared to how many were sold in the last 45 days, if Stellantis completely stopped making any, it'll take around 400 days just to sell what's out there. The 1500 isn't much better with over 300 days supply, same for Jeep Grand Wagoner and some other high end cars. Fastest sellers with almost no inventory are Kia Carnival, Toyota Corolla, etc.

Trucks are elastic. Meaning, when prices are high, they will substitute or curtail their demand. As opposed to inelastic where if pries are high, there is either no substitute or apatite to decrease consumption. Like Eggs.

Truth be told, a ton of new trucks were sold the past 3 years. I think just like with the EV thing now, a lot of demand was brought forward. It will be slim times ahead, especially with high interest rates.
