Kubota L3450
I have an old L3450 that sat for years. I got the engine going but the 3 point is dead. It was having major issues before the tractor was parked, so it’s going to be a bad piston / sleeve. The tractor has a ROPS and I was thinking about mounting an ATV winch to it to lift the blade or mower. I only use the tractor once or twice a year and I know fixing the 3 point is going to cost more than the machine is worth. Other than the obvious tight cable / flesh proximity, what says ye?

A little bit "hillbilly" but I wouldn't talk you out of it.👍
Especially with infrequent use.

What about putting on a hydraulic cylinder to do the lifting? Should be able to tap into the hydraulic circuit to add. Just another option.

How would you mount the ram? Interesting idea!

I've seen it done before, more than once, it works just fine. Double line it to slow it down...

I'm not convinced synthetic rope is safer though...

I'd make a bracket that would mount just below the top link with a bracket that would go down to one of the 3 point arms. Or if the lift arms move freely, you could make a bracket and push one of them up. A winch puts a lot of strain on a charging system. Most tractors don't have very high amp alternators to replace the winch draw.

Why not troubleshoot and fix the 3 pt hitch? Could be expensive, could be cheap, no one knows without digging in a bit further. Most of the time, it's as simple as a remote lever being bumped into detent or a bad piston seal.
