Wits end with my Kubota dealer

Sounds to me like your dealer isn't doing a flash job. And no doubt they have bigger equipment to service this time of year. You've waited 5 weeks, I wouldn't cancel at this stage, they'll remember that when you go in to service. Hard as it is, I'd take a few deep breaths, drink a beer, and look again next week. Once you get it you'll forget all about how long it took to come.

When I got a loader put on mine they took forever. I hassled them to get it back to me, the sales guy went and had a look said yep it looks done, so he delivered it. Month or so later my brother in law said "sounds like it's got no grease in the loader." I'd never considered a newly installed loader would need greasing. Sure enough, never been greased, there was one grease nipple missing. Presume the guy installing it was missing that one part, so it was sitting there not done. Because I hassled they shipped it, but shipped it wrong. Then again, maybe they were going to ship it wrong either way.

They're your local dealer, you're kinda stuck with them. Making noise might make them treat you better, and might make them annoyed with you. My guess is it'll mostly make them give you some lip service, then go do work on the combine harvester for the guy who can't harvest without it fixed. And remember you as the complainer.

If one can't keep up with selling and fixing tractors, busy season or not, then they should probably do something else. Expand or collapse. Only dealer in area; get a different brand. Accepting poorly laid out sales team effort begets more of the same again and again.

Service delivers a no grease loader, missing zerk or not, the rest of the loader couldn't have been greased, the customer notified of the missing part, etc., come on?! How many excuses does one need to put up with? Complainer- more like guy who wants his new tractor delivered. One has NOTHING to do with the other IMO.

There are plenty of brands, and plenty of customer $ to be spent. If one can't get good service at the point of purchase, one should look elsewhere.

Vote with one's wallet; I'm certain after the 'sale' the service will absolutely suck, especially when busy harvester season rolls around and one's inexpensive CUT or SCUT is parked in the back 40 waiting on a schedule slot for service, or maybe grease.....

And serial numbers and financing, poor excuse too. How about stocking some simple attachments? BB, brush hog, etc. Seems Messick's can do, so why do others always have some excuse? I suspect because they are disorganized, don't make enough, or any effort to run their business successfully, and it shows when someone, the OP, gets the short end of the stick. The more customers who walk away will have written the 'writing on the wall'; the business is lying down on the job.

Toyota is like Kbota in the auto business. When I go to trade my lease in, if my dealer doesn't have my model and color in stock they go get it elsewhere and deliver it to me within two days. They send someone to pick it up and swap out something the other dealer wants. Missing tailpipe chrome extension, they write it into the order and install the part at my convenience, no charge. I want mats, same thing, they take care of it no matter what. I currently have 4 Toyotas. The dealer principal, ( owner) knows me and always greets me by name, never fails to make whatever deal works for me, work for them too. This isn't rocket science; it IS business that reaps them millions of $ /year by being contentious, returning phone calls, emails, and texts in a timely and professional fashion.

Done everyday all across the country. I personally refuse to settle for less. Why should I or anyone else settle for less? If I'm offered less, I'm gone. Business professionals know this, and respect it. Those who don't WILL fail at being in business.

More tractor dealers, regardless of brand, will learn this the hard way, sooner than later, unfortunately.:confused3:

I don't disagree, except in one respect. If you cancel now you'll have to get a tractor somewhere else. If they're only a week away from delivering, then you'll not get a tractor any sooner, and you still have to get it serviced with them (to the extent you need it serviced). If you hadn't ordered yet, yeah go somewhere else. But cancelling something they've got into stock they're going to remember.

I'd happily tell everyone that they were crap, and that they should order somewhere else then service locally to the extent they need. They'll not notice a new guy come in with a tractor to service. But I wouldn't cancel, they'll remember that.

I suggest asking for the sales manager, give him your complaints, and, then a tight deadline. When and if they miss the deadline or don't call you back , wash your hands of theses stinkers. Your patience is exceptional. The minute I feel I'm being jerked around by a dealer ( cars, equipment, carpet, whatever) I'm gone. Many other fish in the sea.

Got a call from the dealer (unsolicited!) yesterday afternoon explaining they were missing the delivery date target this week.

They need to make up new hoses for the top-n-tilt and figure they can deliver next week. I'm travelling until Friday, so it looks like next weekend is the soonest it can happen.

Making up new hoses is a 10-15 minute job tops. Shouldn’t delay delivery. Sounds like an excuse.

15 minutes to do that, I would be on the phone with another dealer right about now to see what they will do for you.. It's a good way to know if the dealer your working with is jerking you around.. IMO they are..

Hoses?! My dealer makes them while I drink their coffee. These guys are idiots. Sorry for you OP that you are having to survive this ridiculousness. That's the best lame azze excuse they can come up with? They are true masters of the stall tactics book. YIKES!?:shocked:

BTW, I hear those who say 'they will remember' and essentially they will cause you pain later when it come to servicing your tractor, etc. I look at it differently; if they beat you around on the sale, they already think and essentially know you'll put up with their BS. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction in this power struggle to have the upper hand. How far is Messicks from you? If you went to them or at least spoke to them they might tell you they can service after the sale for you too depending on distance. Break free man- your tractor won't need to spend its life in the shop. Kubotas are a very good brand, and I'm sure Messicks will make and keep you happy with your choice of them as your sales and service dealer. Life is short, enjoy it on your terms!

Don't cancel until you have another deal lined up... come on, he's been talking to them since July, ordered in August, we're almost into October.

I agree, I wouldn't give them my money that's for sure.
