Backhoe woods 80x backhoe

Sounds like a plan, however I would try to break them off/pull them out with the FEL before I would use the axe. The FEL is also quicker to cover the hole. I'm thinking after the first ten you will have a system down.

I go in for my 90x with hydraulic thumb next week. You guys are killing me with these pics. I gotta get mine installed and working soon. :) . Sure sounds like these hoes are definitely a quality product.
Lee what price did you get and which dealer?
What size bucket did you get? Are you getting the 4 point subframe?
Thanks
Chuck
PS quotes are ugly around here as high as 10 to11k

My quote was high but I got it pretty well outfitted. It is a groundbreaker bh90-x with hydraulic thumb, 4 pt subframe, pto hydraulics, 18" bucket and painted kubota orange. Also they are charging me $500 to install the subframe/backhoe. From what I read I didn't quite have the setup to put the subframe on by myself so I opted to pay them the $500 to do it. $10,902 out the door. (no tax on farm equipment in tn.)

Lee, I assume you didn't have rear remotes already and this is why you chose pto pump. Correct? If you had rear remotes, thus not needing the pto pump and resv. the price would have been reduced by what?
thanks

PS sorry for respomding 48hrs later I've been busy at work all weekend.

Mike, how did the BH work on it's first full weekend? I was thinking of y'all when Karen and I were digging mesquite with MY BH. We used a slightly different plan than you did. I operated the BH and she piled up the mesquite. I could usually dig 2-3 mesquite without repositioning. We dug about 30 in 2 hours. Can't work too hard in retirement or we wouldn't have any fun tomorrow.:D

Man you guys were killing me with those prices for awhile.......I was thinking I really got the shaft because my BH-90X with the 4 point subframe for a NH TC55DA, installed with a mechanical thumb and a PTO pump was a bit over $10k.....All the NH dealers were talking 11-12 for a 759c.....And btw, I have rear remotes but the dealer and the factory suggested PTO pump strongly over rear remotes. I've also read on here somewhere where I think you get a more consistent pressure on a BH with it but I don't really understand the difference, just know most say to do it that way.

I have dual rear remotes but the dealer said I would get better power running off of the pto since I'm running the hoe off of a 50hp tractor. I think the pto pump was around $500 but am not sure.

Your tractor's internal hydraulic pumps are also powered by the same
tractor that powers your PTO. Your tractor has plenty of flow from the implement pump to power the Woods BH80-X or BH90-X. Dealers often tell customers to use the PTO pump because then they don't have to figure out how to connect the new hoe up to your tractor, which may not have a remote hyd connection. Of course, they also sell the pump/res/filter setup for another $700-$1000, too.

I agree. The only other thing that I was told is that the cooling of the fluid is better running thru the tractor. It may not have a large enough resv. for cooling cap. with the pto pump and resv. (hot summer working near max power)
The pto and rear remotes are both spec. at 9 gpm so it should make no diff. both should work the same. The only thought I have in using the RR is that I will waste "x" amount of fluid every time because I will push all the "old fluid" out until I see new fluid then I'll "hook up". I don't want that old fluid to be "cycled" into my machine. This is the only problem with the RR setup that I see so far. I'm open to all comments and info on this. (hooking attachment into RR with "old" fluid because of sitting idle for "x" period of time.
thanks

It is true that HST tractors have oil coolers, which helps a lot with
running a hoe. Gear tractors often have no cooler, but the 7+ gallons of
oil does help keeping the fluid cool.

With respect to using the tractor's hydraulics and QA hoses, the hoe's
hydraulics are sealed from the elements when disconnected. With a
PTO hyd system, there is an air vent on the hoe's reservoir so the oil
is NOT sealed.
