PDe, I just got off the phone with Deer Creek in Willimaston. Of your serious and we can get say 5 or better parties that are serious I will check on that with them. They quoted me $5700 plus tax and that is full retail according to Woods.

Just as a follow up I called another dealer in Charlotte, MI and was quoted 4459 plus tax. Quite a difference.

Quite a difference in price, and between just two dealers! With some work one would guess an out-the-door price that includes everthing to operate (brackets, attachments, hoses, the bucket, sales tax) may dip below 4k.

Check with your dealers and see if the price is including installation. There is about 6-8 hours of setup time on most woods backhoes. Take them in the crate and sure, you can dip below 4k, but not setup. In the case of Kubota, I would also price trading on a BX23. Don't automaticly assume that the woods is your cheapest option. Around here a 2-3 year old BX2200 with mower and loader sells for about 10,000 used. Add 4500 for a woods backhoe and your about $1500 less than a brand new BX23 with mower. $1500 for financing, a new warrenty, and a mount thats probably better than woods should be considered.

Good point on the set-up. To save additional cash I'd seriously consider taking it crated. Though an assembly required hoe is not for everyone.

The problem you may run into on the "Assembly required" could be a lack of warranty coverage by either Woods or the tractor brand in case something breaks.

Just checked the site listed on page 1 at the bottom on this, looks like a 2200 that woods is showing on the brochure, with the hoe attached........

my dealer always told me it is not that it will not fit, but the frame of the 2200 is not strong enough and will twist with the hoe in use. He claims to have seen them break the frame.

Just checked with my dealer on this. He told me YES it will work on the 2200, but MUST be installed properly to make sure Woods is responsible for responsible use breaks. This is a NEW model he is talking about made FOR the sub compact tractors. He liked it, but is also looking at trade value of my VERY EASILY USED AND LESS THAN 150 HOURS Bx 2200. I will also get a price on installed Woods Groundbreaker backhoe. I will post the results.
