I leave out apostrophes when I am on TBN, then I have to correct myself by adding them back in when I am not on TBN.

A Quality Assurance Engineer for 20+ years and Technical Writer Document Reviews were part of life and not all were that good at knowing what a "prepositional phrase" is or is that was, and the Documents had to be sent back to them for review and corrections.
I'm no English Major and Grammar was never my strong suit, but I have always thought writing for the flow of the process was the best approach and reviewing with the person performing the process was important.
The one thing that has changed over the years and bothers me, is the deletion of "commas" !
Modern (English) educators are teaching the opposite...they are saying the comma is misunderstood and was being used way too often and where it was not needed...i.e., a mere pause does not call for a comma etc...
...personally I like using ellipses..

I over compensate with too many words !
