Even the 10 O'clock news has some of these "slow news days" every now-and-again.

The slow news day provides an excuse to post photos of my latest project. It's a holder for the two different sized shear pins on the new snowblower. :D

I like to always have a work towel/ rag handy for wiping my hands off.

Some years ago I bought a 3-pack of black bath towels at Kmart. Black of course doesn't show dirt/ grease etc.

To make it most handy I realized I could simply tie one around my ROPS & let it hang there. In the pic I have wrapped it up around a 2nd time for road travel, so my blinkers can be seen from front, too. Normally, though, I let the towel hang straight down to where it sits about right on the fender. The knot holds it nice & tight for wiping your hands off firmly.

(this is what I post when I have no actual project to report on )

I have a towel behind my seat and use it when I have lots of grime on my hands. However when I am tractoring I wear a pair of soiled jeans with trucker suspenders until they stand on thier own in the corner. Then I actually switch them out for another like, cleaned pair(of course I change my spenders!).
Most of what my hands get into I wipe on my pants. If I wore just any pair of jeans while working outside I wouldn't have any good enough for daily use.:D

When I get ready to head outside, I grab three things, my cap, gloves and I hang a shop rag out of my back pocket.

Wedge

I never thought about it, but I do the same.

The long, narrow OEM toolbox between the fenders behind the seat is sufficient for me (for now anyway) ... & by hanging a towel from the ROPS it's always right there in front of me ready to be used without having to dig around for it with super-greasy hands

Why use a rag when your wife has a perfectly good dish towel in the kitchen?

I am lucky, I have a customer who is a hair dresser and she gives me all her worn towels. I buy shop towels they are not cheap, and save the cloth towels for drying my hands, and special situations.

By all means! Glad to help! I'm no welder, yet!, but I can wood-work till the cows come home, thus this mostly wood tractor roof

In fact, here's the post I made about it, with more details: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/2407312-post71.html

I like to go to goodwill or salvation army and buy the rattiest towels they have and use them until my hands get dirtier by using the towel than not using it.
