Good job

lakngulf,
I suggest adding some more, or heavier duty cable ties to your ROPS magnet/holder assy. I would put one heavier duty one on either side of each magnet area to insure a good grip and less chance of breakage over time. Black cable ties exposed to sunlight over time become brittle and can fail, and you don't want the whole thing crashing down onto the tractor, or your head at some less than opportune time.

Thanks for the suggestion, Coyote Machine, I will give it a look. The setup looks fragile but I have put it thru some toil. I had thought that I would look for a different approach, just in case, but your suggestion might be just what the doctor ordered.

Used the lights a couple of times last week after work, and they extended my day.

We appologize for not having pictures. The idea for the worklight kit came from a TBN Member. We have been doing them for customers on a "by request" basis, the good TBN'er suggested we put it together in a kit and offer it for others to install.

We now do offer as a kit, depending on the tractor model. Kits are made up by order. The price is the same for any model. Kits are complete with light bar, lights (2 forward/1 rear), harnesses and switches.

I would like to see what these look like. I read a review by at least one happy customer. I have a DK35SE that should be delivered next week. What would be the cost with shipping to Springfield, MO?

Can anyone post a picture of these lights?

I have been on my tractor in late afternoon and evening lately, trying to get soil prepared for food plots. The light setup is, indeed, fragile at best. When I have time I plan to revise the light attachment, and get the other lights installed. With constant use on rough terrain the magnet approach has not worked. I have purchased some large U bolts and angle iron from TSC. Once I have the tractor at home again (after food plots) I will tackle the revision.

"Black cable ties exposed to sunlight over time become brittle and can fail"

More specifically, the white ones and some of the cheaper black ones can fail.

The UV resistant ones will be black. The best ones will have a small piece of stainless steel in the head; these would be sold at an electrical supply wholesaler as opposed to Homer Depot.

I have a 500 pack of 36" ones; I'll give you a dozen if you care to drop by. :)

Michigan iron -

My last attempt at lights did not go so well, I couldn't figure out the grounding problem became agitated and smashed em. They were el cheapos, so no real meaningful loss. Are the lights movable, and how much for shipping (PA)? Do they come with instructions for the easily annoyed by minor problems?

Been there done that, next time instead of smashing your stuff and loosing your hard earned money, take a step back, start from the beginning post a question on here and we'll sort it out for you. Much better feeling in the end to sort it out rather than smashing your stuff.

When I get frustrated to the point of smashing stuff I usually take out the quad and go for a spin or take out the backhoe and dig a hole, whether needed or not.

If I did mine again I'd weld a nut to the rops and scew them in. I drilled my rops, and while it works I'd not do it again. The cable ties work fine with the wires inside a loom. Just replace the ties every couple of years.

Yes, I will be right there. :) I will look you up on Mapquest, and I should be there in say....three weeks.

I am going to try the U-bolt approach, and see how that goes. The first thing I have to do it get better connections of my wires, they keep coming loose.
