Well gentlemen, For the lowdown tonight....AND yes, I did tell them to do the 50 hr service the last time it went to the shop and it needed to be on the house since they have put as many or more of those 50 hr's on it as i have.........

Now on to the Story........ After that last phone call i told you guys about with the service manager...and the napa comment.... Miraculously out of the blue about 20-30 minuets later i get a phone call........

It's the Service Manager Again???

Me...hello

Service Manager...Hello , hey listen i do not know why i didn't think of this earlier but, i have sent a guy to the next nearest dealership to get you a filter. Hopefully when he gets back we can get that thing on there and get it back to you.....

ME...That's great!! I will be here at the farm the rest of the afternoon..

Service Manager......Ok If we get the filter back and on it, and have a truck we will bring it back this afternoon.....That's if we have a truck...I cannot guarantee that we will, due to other deliveries.....

Me......Ok, sounds good.........do your best, but just make sure it's fixed.....Thanks again

Service manager.....Well think it is we been over it pretty thoroughly and cannot find any issues so hopefully we have it fixed and in good shape for you...

Me....I sure hope so, just call if you need to. otherwise i will be here looking for it today.....

WOULD YOU KNOW IT....around 4 pm today i got my tractor back......and i ran the **#@ out of it for the rest of the evening mowing hay and so far no hydraulic shakes vibrations or anything else....got a few drips of diesel near filter. figure that may be from the changeover, should self correct. the draft control works and seems to be functioning properly.......Time will tell on that one......

SO THE RUNDOWN...... The tractor seems to be in better shape now than it was when i bought it. Considering they put a new hydraulic pump, new mid mount loader valve, new mid mound hydraulic couplings, new hydraulic filter housing and filter, new remote hydraulic block under seat and draft control sensor, all new hydraulic fluid, new filters and new vertical exhaust....(my aftermarket upgrade)...........Not to mention 8 or 9 trips picking it up and dropping it off from and too me....and the 1 hour, and 50 mile round trip it cost somebody today to get me a filter.....from the next dealership......and the time it's gonna take them to put the parts back on another new tractor they robbed on the lot instead of making me wait on new holland to ship the parts......:applause::applause:

AND as far as the service manager telling me he went over it thoroughly..........

OVERFLOW FROM THE COOLANT RESERVOIR CAP BEING STRIPPED/OVER TIGHTENED AND JUST PLAIN BROKE.... DONE STOPPED MY HYDRAULIC/FLUID COOLER, PART OF RADIATOR, AND WHATEVER ELSE UP..........WANNA BET THEY GET ANOTHER CALL .........:fiery:

Definitely, another phone call is needed, that looks like a ten year old second hand tractor with that oil cooler plugging up like that and that clamp looks 20 years old.

Well that's very disappointing for you - even from way down here.

With all those parts replaced, there's no real indication of exactly what was the root cause of your hydraulic problem is there? :confused3:

As for the coolant leak and blocked cores - Gee... below average work indeed. You are lucky you hadn't run it all day and overheated the trans fluid or engine or both.

I'm not familiar with the NH - so what is that reservoir with the two hoses attached? As Oldpath05 suggests the hose clip looks suspect but more interestingly there doesn't seem to be much 'bite' of the strap into the hose rubber as I would expect to see.

Diesel fuel drips don't normally self-correct. You should monitor that one.
They should have valeted the tractor before loading it onto the truck.

Your 'friendship' with the dealership owner must be under considerable strain, if not already at breaking-point. :(

Ok..... to be a little more clear on the picture.. The leak is actually coming from the white reservoir that's in the top of the picture. I took a close up shot so what you are seeing is the coolant that has ran down the top container and been sucked back into the coolers. on the way it has coated the hydraulic steering reservoir and the outlet/inlet line from it. the cap that is stripped/broke is located on the top of the white reservoir directly above this picture just out of view. there is green coolant all over the battery also as you can see pooled a little in the picture. Basically just a mess to clean up and hopefully a new coolant reservoir with cap will fix this problem......BUT STILL SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPEN'D... The fuel dripping may be coming from some webbing wrapped around some hoses near the fuel filter....cannot find any around the filter top or the lines leading in or out of the pump. that's why i am waiting to see if it self correct's it may have been just spillage and will dissipate.... I Hope..???

By now its clear in my mind that they have pi$$ poor mechanics.

Rather than any real trouble shooting, and root-cause identification.....they just choose to throw darts by swapping everything hydraulic related until the problem went away.

Thats NOT how a trained tech works. And at the end of the day....we still dont know what the problem is. So what will they do if this ever happens again?

There is no way I would let them touch the tractor again. Send them that picture and a list of parts you need and fix that coolant issue YOURSELF.

So how does one clean a radiator/hydraulic cooler gummed up like that, pressure washer might damage it.

Really do not know how you supposed to technically clean it:D....but i did it with a water hose and some spray de-greaser. work pretty good just had to be careful because the puter brains and fuse block are mounted on the top and right side of this stuff....

Also to beat all seems like 20 cents worth of Teflon tape has stopped the leak around the cap for now til i get them to order a new part.....and yes i will be putting that on if they don't fuss about warranty issues....

Well - maybe you're closing in on a resolution to this issue. Fingers crossed.

bspeedy, I sure hope so...I've been down a long road with this thing....and i still like the tractor, and the hydraulics seem to still be working properly and the fuel drip must have been as i suspected because it went away. I just really have had to learn a whole lot about my dealer and service the hard way....and even though i do like the tractor and it is what i wanted when purchased i still am on the fence about possibly trading? just to know for my sake that hopefully the next one would be brand new again and not dismantled, played with, poked, prodded and in general a science experiment or training exercise then put back together with a sawdust fix that will just get me by the next 21 or so months of New Holland warranty period...... BUT do i take that risk???.........I could get worse as someone on here posted before...... and now that it is working good it seems to be a great tractor......I just lost the joy of Owning a new tractor about 2 hours after delivery........and took on a headache of dealing with a lot of parts changers that meant well......

I have only bought one brand new tractor and come to think of it it never had the "new" car smell.

Something for the manufacturers to work on :)
