Thank You for the words. . . . . On my way home yesterday I purchased two new American flags. . . . . our's was faded and old looking, as was the one at the farmhouse. I felt it was time to bring out new colors, and show my pride for the country in which we live.

Someone said we were brought to our knees. . . but it was only for a moment. We will rise to the moment and be proud again. We will stand tall ! This act can not and will not quench the American spirit.

Take a moment right now and say the words to the national anthem to yourself. Listen to the words. They are true.

Never lose faith in America!

My thoughts are with you on this day of your greatest tragedy.

Gosh, Richard, I guess if you use the strict dictionary definition of the word "due", then Toddler used the wrong word (how many of us have been guilty of that?), but I sure didn't take his comments to mean that anyone "deserved" what happened. Are you sure you didn't read something into it that wasn't intended?

Regardles Bird I don't think saying anything like that was appropriate at all. My Aunt lost her two boys yesterday after losing her husband to cancer two years ago. Want me to call her up and tell her it's ok we were probably due for something like this to happen sorry it had to be your boys?

Semantics...

The best and easiest way to sum this up is to say that we are at war. The who has not been determined. However, once determined, all hell is going to break loose....

I cannot image what the future may bring, but it surely will not be pretty. In my opinion, the response will be a no hold's barred attack and I can image that there will be reprisals.

Let us hope that whatever the future brings, it will be short and effective with a long-lasting end. And I believe that there will be a global effect to the outcome. A better understanding between nations will exist with greater cooperation. Will there be anarchy and splinter-groups?? Always, just human nature.

It is early and I wish I could be more eloquent (fighting a sinus/head cold thingy). We have suffered and as usual, the American people will pull together an help those that suffered. And send a biting message to those who brought this terror to our land. The bastards will die!! Some call it justice....

Semantics......

I'm very sorry to hear that, Richard. I know emotions run high in a situation such as this; and justifiably so, in my opinion. And when emotions run high, I think it's just human nature to look for someone to blame, strike out at, etc. And often times we're not careful enough in choosing exactly the right words. But I hope we blame only the individuals responsible for such incomprehensible atrocities.

Thanks for your thoughts JD. The outpouring of support from around the world is deeply appreciated by everyone here.

I live about a 3 hour drive from Washington DC. Last night after taking the dogs out, my wife said she saw blinking lights high in the sky. Of course on any other day this would go without notice but with the "ground stop" order, the skies were quiet. We quickly found out over a local news radio program that they were military helicopters on patrol. Like someone on CNN said last night, "We will wake up tomorrow morning in a different country". Looking at those helicopters, I knew he was right.

This story in the news this morning on those bastards who hijacked the planes out of Boston.

There is a strange feeling here. I'm very close to the airport and planes normally roar overhead especially in the morning hours.

The economic ripple is already being felt at least temporarily. Fish and lobsters catches can't be moved to Boston, Philidelphia or across into Canada. The major portion usually goes to Fulton Market in Manhatten 10 blocks from the WTC.
