In this thread...

I confessed I was thinking seriously about the possibility of buying a bx kubota to partner up with my B2910.

This week I will be visiting my dealer and see how bad he would like to sell a tractor to someone who he just last year sold a b2910 to.

Now if I should decided to do this, should I get a loader on the bx? My b2910 has a loader and backhoe...

What would you do?

At the moment I tend to think I would not need a loader on the smaller tractor, but knowing how useful they are...I am also thinking that it might be nice to have a little loader now and then...

What da ya say? [besides that I'm nuts...??]

Henro,

I always did kind of think your were nuts!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Not sure on the loader though. The loader I would imagine would run you around $2500.00 You could probably get yourself a pretty nice piece of implement for that, but then why buy the tractor. Yeah I would go for the loader. That way you can Pi** us all off here cause we only have one tractor and you have two. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just messing with you. I guess the decision really has to be yours. It's your money or lack of it after you buy the tractor and you have to decide it you will have enough uses for it.

Bill, Bill, Bill...

I can't believe you're actually asking the question.... Of course you get the loader!!!

Geeze...don't go weak in the knees on me now! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's some justification...just in case there is a shred of sanity left...you're getting down the end of your pile of dirt/sand/mulch etc....you park one tractor w/loader behind the pile and use the other tractor w/loader to pick-up the end of the pile. Should require very little hand shoveling. Easily worth $2500 to me. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Sorry Bill, if you want objective advice, you're going to have to get it from a TBN member a bit more practical than I. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ok Henro,

I'm assuming you would be using the smaller BX as a mowing machine for the vast majority of the time, with a loader not mounted. Why would you want a second loader that you would have to hook up....... when you can just hop on the B2910 with the loader already in place and ready to go. (You would probably have to back the B2910 out of the shed to get to the loader for the BX. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

This is your voice of reason. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If you were thinkin' straight you'd be buying a tractor for each rear impliment that you owned so you'd never have to change a 3 point impliment again! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Why not get a BX22 and you will have both an extra FEL and backhoe, never know when you need both, small and big, you will have all your bases covered/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, you should get a rotary broom for the bx. That way you can use with your 2910 like a giant dust pan and whisk broom to get tha last bit of the piles that you'removing. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

No, I wouldn't get a loader on my second tractor. But in all fairness I wouldn't get a second tractor. I don't have enough mowing to justify that big of a cost. My small lawn tractor works just fine for my needs. If I had the justification (and money) a BX would be a sweet set-up, still do not think I would get the second loader however.

Yeah, I'd get the loader. But, I wouldn't put a bucket on it - just forks. The forks will come in handy more often than a bucket with all the stuff you carry, and besides, you already have a bucket. Then, you can make one of those man-lifts like Spencer, and you'd feel even more like Spencer. And then, you wouldn't need all those ladders. I get jealous and P.O'd when I look at your pictures and you have all those ladders. If you didn't need all the ladders I could have some and then I wouldn't get as jealous, except then I'd want the man-lift. But, I'd settle for some of the ladders. So get the loader with forks.

Hmmm...
Yesterday, I was moving some rocks and some sand, and some topsoil. I was decommisioning an old campfire pit and building a new one. I was thinking that two loaders would be great...three, even better. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also, the BX needs the loader for resale, right?? Life has a way of changing your best laid plans. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
