Get at least a B for ground clearance.
I just purchased a 4' Brush/Rotary mower for a B2320 and the B2320 handles it fine. It might would handle another foot wider mower, sure a bit bigger B would handle a 5' mower.
If your going to finance your purchase then I'd look at new first to find your monthly payment then maybe spend a small amount of time looking at used equipment. You'll probably find that you can buy new for about the same or less monthly payment than a decent used one. Most used tractors for sale are way past well worn or they are priced near new price with no 0% interest financing.
Barlows will deliver and sells new and used. They are usually the low priced leader and then use their price for reference.
I went years without a BH and I've had one for a year now and wouldn't give it up as long as I'm still doing projects to my property.
The L size tractor is bigger, faster and stronger and more expensive than equal B if time is of importance but on hillsides they are more scary sitting so high up off the ground. I've went from BX's, B's one L and back down in size to a B and a BX.
