ym2210 d that has been sitting 3 yrs

Ok the 2TR22 seems to be the engine on the ym2200, so unless it was on some of the 2210's its a ym2200 engine? Can a poweshift model work with a engine from a non powershift model? Guessing it could.

Doesn't YM2200 have the exhaust on the left?

Good call, well exhaust is on the right on this tractor, I can't find any info on what engines were used in the 2210 except the 2t90

But to answer your question yes, any motor that will mount up with the center section or the bellhousing/trans will run your tractor. After all, its only the power source. The trans runs off a pump that is powered by the hydros. And the knowledge we have here on this board is not all inclusive. Its possible that thats an early motor??

When you place an order with either do it over the phone, and use that oportunity to ask your questions and see if they have an engine listing? I know hoye will gladly answer if they can.

I would tap on the side of starter a few times to try to un stick the brushes etc before pulling it but thats me.

I would tap starter, but then, did we ever decide if you can pull start a powershift? If its engaged with the engine while off it will work but i have no idea. I think the consensus is that you cant do it? IF you could i would pull start it.

The starter checked out ok, got it back on, don't have a battery so I am jumping direct from cables to starter, it spins over easy with compression lever open, but not enough juice with it closed, it turns but slowly. I tried my tractor battery with tractor running, still not enough juice.

The cables could be resisting some voltage since thy are getting warm, what is used to get Mega juice for turning engines over that have been sitting.?

I have found sometimes when a battery is so dead (thiss is jumping to a battery not directly to starter) that unless you have heavy duty cables you need 2 sets of cables. Do you have a heavy duty set or a light set? If this is the cheapest you could buy at Walmart they may not allow enough current, if they are midgrade they still may not flow enough? Try 2 sets of cables. I had to do this to jump my truck this year when i accidently shut if off at a gass station. Truck had been sitting for a year and only started a few times in that year, the last 4 months or so it was dead as a door nail. The girl there had an emergency rescue tpe set, not real thin but not heavy., It took 2 sets to even spin my warmed up chevy 350 over.

Here's where I would go next in diagnosing this:

If the new tractor's starter checked good and both tractors are 2210's - I would exchange starters between tractors.

Verify that the new starter starts the old tractor as easily as its original starter did.

Then move the old tractor's battery and cables to the new tractor. Now you have the old tractor's complete starting system in the new tractor.

If it still cranks slow, assist that with jumpers from your car or from a 2/10/50 battery charger.
